Great family hotelPosted Feb 27, 2014
This resort is perfect for family's with small kids. The pools are great for older kids and then there is a small child pool which is a pirate ship with slides and other fun stuff. Plus there is a playground next to the kid pool. I have children and his trip it was just my wife and I and it was still a great relaxing trip. I will defiantly bring my children to this resort.

Decent hotel, nothing great.Posted Feb 12, 2014
Seemed good for timeshare owners, not so good for visitors, especially the room options/view. Booked an ocean virew. First room was horrible, switched to another but both on floor two so minimal view of water due to foliage and right above pool/outdoor bar so noisy. Won't be back again!

Great Hotel, Great Staff, So relaxing!Posted Feb 12, 2014
Cons: The toilet in our room was very loose and rattled every time you sat down.
Location: Less than 10 minute drive to Lahaina, nice little beach if you don't want to sit by the pool. Lots of golf nearby
I loved this hotel, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I loved the fact that instead of having someone come in a clean your room everyday they offered you a breakfast buffet voucher if you declined service for the next day. For someone who doesn't require cleaning of my room daily this was a very nice option. Our room was spacious and everything we needed plus more was provided for us. The only thing I found frustrating was the fact that during happy hour non alcoholic drinks (which I couldn't drink because I am pregnant) were more expensive than drinks with alcohol... which makes no sense whatsoever- seemed like a punishment for those who don't drink. Other than that it was great!

Great West Maui stay with kidsPosted Feb 11, 2014
It was our first visit ever to Hawaii. We spend 10days @ this resort. Was very family/kids friendly. Only one small minus was that we need to pay extra for parking. We were happy with service otherwise. Worth $. Strongly recommended to everyone. Aloha and enjoy Maui.

Comfortable and easy to findPosted Feb 4, 2014
We found the staff to be quite friendly. The facility was right on the beach, which afforded the opportunity to walk up and down the beach for a mile or more each way. The pool is also nearby, with equally easy access. Room cleaning was excellent, the in-room kitchen was clean and had all the needed cooking utensils. Access form the main highway was easy and close, but little highway noise was noticeable from the room or the rest of the complex. A very well run, and comfortable place to relax! we will stay there again!

I would stay here again.Posted Feb 1, 2014
Pros: Easy access to great beach, nice rooms.
Cons: A room further from traffic noise. Kitchen supplied with more essentials like cooking oil, salt and pepper.
Location: The aquarium is a must see. Io state park. The blow hole up north. Snorkeling right there if the surf is not too strong or at Black Rock.
The only negatives were the place is HUGE and there is a lot of walking which was hard because I had a leg injury. Also our unit was closer to the highway than I would have liked so we got road noise. The 1 bedroom unit we had was roomy and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. I never heard or noticed my neighbors. The beach right in front of the resort was I thought the nicest one in this area of Maui; not crowded, great swimming and snorkeling. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We mostly ate in our unit but had one meal at the Italian restaurant at the resort and the food was wonderful and not too expensive.

Awesome place to stay!!Posted Jan 31, 2014
We loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again. We just got back six days ago and have already told people about it. Loved the location.
Only OKPosted Jan 28, 2014
No shower, no lanai, sheets were starched to cardboard state and we asked for an upgrade to an ocean view which they said it was but there was no ocean as far as we could see! Moved to the Honau Kai next door and it was fabulous! Won't stay at the Westin again.

Good trip but...Posted Jan 21, 2014
First of all location of the resort and the staff was great. Through Expedia I chose 3 Deluxe Ocean View rooms. I also requested that the rooms be near each other. My ocean view rooms consisted of a one bedroom with a peek a boo view of the ocean, plants blocked our ocean view and one studio had a view of an air conditioning unit both on the first floor.u The other studio was in the same building but on the sixth floor. Both studios had Juliette balconies so small you barely could stand on it. I was terribly disappointed and near tears since I spent a lot on the trip and the room view was very important to me. I asked the management to change our rooms and was told there wasn't anything else available. They gave us a resort credit, but what I really wanted was three rooms with a view as requested. I also asked if there was a sister resort that had a room with a view we could be moved too. They found us a place but it was going to cost us a lot more money than we had already paid. It didn't seem fair. We still had a very nice vacation. I only wish the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas would of been more honest with their room description and I wish that Expedia would be more knowledgable about the properties that they offer us.

It's a Time Share, beware.Posted Jan 19, 2014
Pros: The rooms were modern, the bed was large and comfortable, the grounds were clean. Efficient shuttle service.
Cons: The food and drinks. No Hawaiian vibe whatsoever. Nothing is given freely other than towels at pool.
Location: There is a lot to do, the shuttle will take you there. We found Star Noodle, an Asian fusion dining experience. A must.
We were looking for a quick getaway to celebrate our 15th Anniversary, so we splurged on a "suite with an ocean view." The room was just 1 of 1,070 rooms so finding it took some time. The ocean view that we paid extra for was obstructed by the building and a bunch of trees. We could see the highway which at times felt like it was right outside our bedroom window. The room was very clean and comfortable, but not worth the extra cost to upgrade unless they guarantee an actual view of the ocean. With that said, the ground and the beach are pretty. We spent most of our time at the beach because the pool was extremely crowded. The food and drinks are way overpriced, but that's Hawaii for you. The nice thing is the rooms have small kitchenette where we cooked our own breakfasts and lunches. This was helpful because the food is bland at best, no flavor or soul, and lacks anything "Hawaiian." We wound up leaving campus to eat elsewhere. We didn't have a rental car and were at the mercy of the shuttle bus which was clean and always on time. This is a timeshare, and they will try to get every bit of $$$ out of you (for example $1.50 charge to call the market in the hotel located next to the lobby). Also expect the hard sell to get you to buy into the property. Maui made us feel great, this hotel tried but didn't succeed. In short, Not the place you want to stay if you are just trying to get away to paradise.
