We weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised! Hotel is aging but it was very clean and all staff we met were excellent! We were exhausted from 20 hours of travel. Comfortable bed, clean room.

"Would return!"
Overall no major complaints. Hotel is well mantained, nicely layed out, food was decent and staff are all friendly. Only negative was a rude valet attendant who threatened to charge us $18.00 for non-self parking. I understand the resort fee includes free "self" parking and not complimentary valet service. It was his delivery of the information that was nasty. Especially since he clearly saw a sleeping child.

"Comfortable hotel"
The entire staff was very helpful & friendly. The room was large & comfortable. The restaurants were good but difficult to get a reservation at a decent time unless you called ahead a day or two. The pool was not very large for the size of the hotel. The grounds are beautiful.

"Would love to come back."
We rented one of the hotel rooms with the king size bed. Now this is not a 5 star hotel. But if your are used to using family/budget hotels this is better than most. Our room was bigger than expected from the reviews. The bed takes about 75% of the room, but had space for 2 chairs at foot of bed (perhaps 6-8 feet entire width of room open) and had 2 end tables beside bed with easy walk around. Amazing job of creating lots of storage space without taking floor space. Also bathroom had way more storage space than mine at home--and mirrors which flipped in to see all sides of your hair. Refrigerator, microwave, safe, TV, portable radio/cd player, bedside clock, hair dryer. Clean and relatively modern feeling. Cleaning staff very nice, as was ALL the staff I met. Bathroom towels and beach towels. Lots of beach chairs--but had to stay on grassy area since beach is public property. Nice beach, but smaller right now due to storm. Locals told me this is one of their favorite beaches and the sand will come back. Saw whales from beach. Decent size pool, but ocean is huge! Everything VERY clean in pool/beach/lobby area. Free parking and internet. Did run out of parking spaces at times, but free public lot immediately adjacent to hotel (gravel) so no problem for me. Late check in was easy. Water craft/snorkling gear easy to rent on premise. I didn't take the bus, but met friends at bus stop at hotel daily so spent time there and never saw a bus come or go-so check schedule if you use.

    Maui Hotel Guide

Stop and stay a while in Hana

Hana is a charming small town, much more than just a pit stop along the way to the towering high-rise resorts in the west. Stop and stay a while in Hana, and experience the authentic Aloha spirit. Rise with the sun for a majestic view of it over the water, kayak through coral reefs, and indulge in chocolate-covered macadamia nuts at the quaint Hasegawa General Store. Hana is an understated somewhat secret Hawaiian spot offering a peaceful and serene getaway.

    Hawaii’s beaches

Hawaii’s beaches are among the most inviting in the world. Find seclusion and alluring views at Hideaways Beach in Kauai, and visit Maluaka Beach in Maua for turtle sightings and kayak adventures around the bay. As for Lanai, get up close and personal with the sea life as you marvel at the spinner dolphins in Hulopoe and paddleboard along with the whales. Snorkel at Hapuna Beach on Hawaii Island and frolic with the fellow tourists at Waikiki Beach in Oahu for the ultimate tropical getaway.

    The back road to Hana

On your next adventure in Maui, take the road less traveled to Hana. While Hana Highway will take you to Hana, the Pi’ilani Highway will get you there, too. Many locals will deter you from using this back road, as it features its fair share of unpaved sections, but the view is well worth it in the end. Along the way, cruise through Ulupalakua Ranch, which is Maui’s only winery, and stop at Kaupo, where you’ll find the burial site of the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh.
