"Very good Maui resort"
The pros: Free self and valet parking. No resort fee. Free water and good coffee in your room daily. It has a beach and a pool with snorkeling right off the beach. Class place at a reasonable price. Did I mention NO RESORT FEE (a way most Hawaiian properties misrepresent their rates)? Great staff that is helpful and friendly. All price levels of food and drink. Sea turtles on the beach The cons: The resort is a little remote, meaning a little far out there on a road that is 20 and 30 MPH speed limits. It seems to be in a rainy spot on the island. It was raining there every afternoon when just up the road was sunny. The pool is a little small.

Hotel is 45 minutes away from airport. Must rent a car to stay at this hotel. This hotel is expensive. Any drink can cost you $17, and it's not worth that price. I dnt like the fact that you had to rent chairs and umbrellas to sit on the beach and if you did rent them, you were kicked off those items by 4:30. The relish Oceanside and burger is not good but the Hula restaurant is great.

"Perfect pampering in paradise!"
This was the most amazing vacation stay we've ever experienced! We've stayed on other Hawaiian islands in the past and dozens of 5-star hotels and resorts over the past 20 years, and this was the most amazing resort we've ever had the pleasure of staying! Professional, attentive staff, with constant pampering at every turn. Gorgeous grounds, wonderful restaurants, clean and we'll maintained facilities and pools. The entire staff were the most professional, friendly, and hardworking group I have ever witnessed. Can't say enough about the level of service they provide, from the welcome greeting with lei's, cool towels, ginger mint lemonade and multiple people all taking care of us, to the amazing pool staff ( loved Rowena with her frequent pool side treats!), the housekeeping who kept our rooms immaculate! They literally had to clean 2-3 times a day, every time we entered, we had fresh towels. Wait staff at the restaurants were wonderful! The concierge staff are priceless, so amazingly helpful getting an itinerary established before our arrival and so helpful while at the hotel. They are one of the best features of the hotel. Can't say enough about how impressed we were by this property, and staff. Would never stay anywhere else while in Maui! Can't wait to return!

"Fantastic family beach resort!"
Our entire family LOVED this resort! It was luxurious yet unpretentious. The restaurant, where we ate almost daily (with occasional meals in the room which had a very well-equipped kitchenette and full-sized fridge, plus we had a few meals at other local restaurants) had excellent gourmet food and the kids could eat free off the kids' menu throughout our stay. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. There was a very "homey" atmosphere to this resort which was very comforting to us. The resort is perched just above one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, with spectacular ocean views. Another aspect of this place that we enjoyed was that there seemed to be people from all walks of life: families with young children, families with older children, young couples on romantic getaways, as well as older couples romantic getaways of their own. My husband loved snorkeling with the turtles almost every day and I paddle boarded for the first time and fell in love with it. The kids swam at the beautiful beach as well as in each of the four lovely pools on the property, and they also paddle boarded, boogie boarded, and snorkled. It was a dream island vacation, and we hope to return to Napili Kai resort someday soon!

Where to stay in Maui Island

    Maui Hotel Guide

Stop and stay a while in Hana

Hana is a charming small town, much more than just a pit stop along the way to the towering high-rise resorts in the west. Stop and stay a while in Hana, and experience the authentic Aloha spirit. Rise with the sun for a majestic view of it over the water, kayak through coral reefs, and indulge in chocolate-covered macadamia nuts at the quaint Hasegawa General Store. Hana is an understated somewhat secret Hawaiian spot offering a peaceful and serene getaway.

Horseback riding on Maui provides you with a unique way to explore the Maui scenery. What’s more, hitch a ride along with the head wrangler’s wife for a guided tour and explanation of the local flora and fauna. Learn about the land’s geography and don’t forget to ask about the famous Makawao Rodeo as you gallop through the ranch.

    Hawaii’s beaches

Hawaii’s beaches are among the most inviting in the world. Find seclusion and alluring views at Hideaways Beach in Kauai, and visit Maluaka Beach in Maua for turtle sightings and kayak adventures around the bay. As for Lanai, get up close and personal with the sea life as you marvel at the spinner dolphins in Hulopoe and paddleboard along with the whales. Snorkel at Hapuna Beach on Hawaii Island and frolic with the fellow tourists at Waikiki Beach in Oahu for the ultimate tropical getaway.

    Family-friendly Maui beaches

Grab the boogie boards and beach pales and head to the family-friendly Maui beaches for a family vacation certain to go down in the history books. Body board with the kiddos at Polo Beach and teach them all your snorkeling skills at the Kahekili Beach Park. Swim all day under the Hawaiian sun at Big Beach and introduce your little ones to luxury living at Wailea Beach during your stay in the paradise islands.

    Heavenly spas in Hawaii

Relax, rejuvenate, and restore your mind and body at one of the heavenly spas in Hawaii. Five best food splurges on Maui

Maui Wowie! When it comes to dining options, Maui sure knows how to wow with sunset settings, tiki lights, and straight-from-the-sea fresh entrees. Macadamia-encrusted mahi mahi shows up on the menu at Ferraro's Bar e Ristorante while Mama’s Fish House eagerly serves up Molokai sweet potato mash. The five best dining spots in Maui are sure to make your mouth begin to water faster than you can say, “humuhumunukunukuapua’a,” the name of Hawaii’s state fish.

    The back road to Hana

On your next adventure in Maui, take the road less traveled to Hana. While Hana Highway will take you to Hana, the Pi’ilani Highway will get you there, too. Many locals will deter you from using this back road, as it features its fair share of unpaved sections, but the view is well worth it in the end. Along the way, cruise through Ulupalakua Ranch, which is Maui’s only winery, and stop at Kaupo, where you’ll find the burial site of the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh.
