Good business hotel. Beutiful terrace at the seafront. No supervision however on the staff taking care of the bar and restaurant, and the service there was very disappointing. A pity ...

Hotel in heart of Port Louis

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Close to town with easy access via Water Taxi. Good room, average size, tidy and clean. Restaurant handy with additional restaurants at sister hotel nearby. Free wifi. Excellent bar overlooking the harbour although the beer is not cold enough for an Aussie's liking.

very disappointing!

Posted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
they said I could only check-in after 10pm, what kind of hotel is that? the man at reception was the rudest person I have ever seen working in a hotel, believe me I know, I did 24 trips abroad this year to different countries staying in different hotels, this one was the worst when it comes to services and rudeness at the reception. He was even arrogant showing me his name so that I could report him, after a very long journey I could not be bothered to write his strange name down! never again!

Convenient spot in Port Louis

Posted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is well situated, close to the main waterfront area of Port Louis. The hotel service could be better, but overall it's a good option for anyone looking for somewhere to stay which is conveniently located.

Reasonably priced and close to town

Pros: The staff were truly lovely and a joy to talk to.
Cons: Internet access and soundproofing.
Location: On the waterfront in Port Louis, there is access via a free water taxi to Le Caudan which has restaurants, banking and nice shops.
This was my first visit to Mauritius and I was there on business hence my stay in Port Louis and not a one of the resorts. The hotel was nice, rooms are fine, food was pretty good if the service was a little slow at breakfast. The staff are truly lovely but I think this is an indication of Mauritian friendliness. Sadly as a business hotel, internet access is poor. It's free in the lobby but not in the rooms but was so intermittent that paying for it in a room would be a waste of money. If you are advertising yourself as a hotel for business visitors, this should be addressed. It can be pretty noisy at weekends and more than half of the rooms suffered from a busy bar on Friday and Saturday nights which stayed open until 2am, not midnight as advertised. I would stay here again but I would insist on a garden view room and as far away from the bar as possible.

Don't neglect Port Louis!

Pros: Excellent breakfast.
Cons: no comment
Location: well kept gardens and pleasant views
Friendly effective and unobtrusive staff. Delightful water taxi service to the Caudan waterfront. In spite of negative remarks on numerous sites, I find Port Louis a charming city.

Nice business hotel

Posted Jun 7, 2013
Pros: Staff, nice pool, outdoor bar and lounge area
Cons: internet connection speed
Location: Port Louis Waterfront area, touristy
Hotel is very nice, staff is excellent, internet connections are not reliable, sometimes the connection speed is decent other times you cannot even log on, hotel is quiet except for Friday nights when the bar sets up a band or DJ (can get pretty loud and lasts well into the night)

great city hotel for a wide variety of guests.

Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: rooms, breakfast, spa
Cons: sometimes a little noisy at night (other guests as hotel was a little busy)
Location: good location, access to north and south of island by road.
Really nice hotel. Comfortable rooms - twin queen size beds as I went on holiday with my mother. Good city location. Breakfast buffet was very nice every morning and definately set me up for the days activities. The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant was also nice and we had several dinner meals there and all were a nice experience bar one where the waiters seemed a little rushed off their feet and hance made some mistakes with the order and timing of delivery. The relatively new spa area was a lovely surprise and there was a discount to hotel guests. The staff in the spa were very professional and nice and made the whole experience all the more enjoyable. During our stay there was a cyclone and this obviously caused a fair bit of rubbish to come onto the grounds which took a while to clear up but eventually this happened.
