Staff need traingPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Location, rooms and facilities.
Cons: Clearly the staff need training and supervision.
Great location, facilities and room. The receptionist was new, did not know her job and forget our request for a taxi. Then tried to charge us for a pre payed room. Barmaid did not how to make an advertised cocktail. Breakfast was like rubber and the service was appalling. We were directed to a table that was not made up. The staff were busy making ready the tables for dinner and it was even 9 o'clock.

Large, comfortable hotelPosted Sep 14, 2014
Very friendly, welcoming check-in for our one night in Ballina. Drove into City Center, found easy parking a few blocks from City Center (Sunday - it was free) and an excellent pub for supper. Ballina has two excellent coffee shops and we visited one the next morning. The hotel was not very busy. The room was comfortable and we would go back again. Unfortunately, we did not have time or opportunity to visit hotel spa.

Disappointing 2 star hotel at bestPosted Sep 1, 2014
Location: Great restaurant in town named Dillons
Hotel was no better than 1-2 star Super 8 quality, advertised as a 4 star! Chair was torn, mattress was soft, sheets and pillowcases were like sandpaper, and the room faced a wall. The bathroom contained no amenities, and the sound of doors banging all night and morning still ring in my ears. The highlight of our stay was our departure.

Pros: Friendly staff. Locality to Ballina, which is a lovely town.
Cons: Room TV is a bit small.other than that and a big stain on the room carpet everything was really nice.
Location: The location is fantastic to visit Ballina and the churches in Knockmore, although you definitely do need a car to get around as there are not many pa
Hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. When I needed a taxi the staff ordered me one and it was there in 5minutes, which is just what you want.

Great stop away from it allPosted Aug 10, 2014
We had a good stopover at Hotel Ballina on a trip up the coast. There isn't much immediately around the hotel, but it's easy to get to from the main roads, and a good base for the local area. The hotel and room were both very good, and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. There was a wedding there the night we stayed, so it was a bit loud outside (we could hear the wedding dance going on), but it didn't wake my 2-year-old. We didn't stay long enough to use the pool or breakfast facilities.
