Great modern hotel in old town Mazatlan.

Posted May 3, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Cons: A little more privacy on the balconies.
Location: Very, very close to all the old town activities without the noise and crowds. We walked to everything.
A very comfortable and quiet hotel across from the ocean. A short walk to the plaza and great restaurants. Great views from our balcony and all the public rooms and restaurant. Very, very, very pleasant and relaxing. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Some staff members had marginal English skills and were not very helpful with booking excursions. The infinity pool was spectacular. Again, great views from everywhere. The Casa Lucilia definetly exceeded our expectations. Would enthusiastically recommend to anyone.

Lovely restored hotel with ocean views

Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Location, overall decorating and environment, ocean views, service.
Cons: Wi-fi did not work well in the room (thick walls, maybe?) but worked fine in the main courtyard.
Location: Lots of restaurants and art galleries within walking distance. Also walking distance to lovely historical buildings, main outdoor square with concerts
This small boutique hotel is beautifully restored, so it's kind of a combination of old world charm with modern conveniences. Staff was excellent, with everyone going out of there way to make our stay perfect. We ate breakfast at the restaurant on the main floor twice and the food was excellent (homemade pastries!). Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and the boardwalk. I would definitely recommend this place.

Dearest Susie, Thank you for the wonderful review! Thank you for trying our Botes de Panes, we think they are pretty delicious as well. We hope that you are able to come back again soon. It's much warmer in Mazatlan than Minnesota! Many thanks again! Sophia

soulless

Posted Dec 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
too expensive for what it is, there are plenty of hotels around this area for half the price. the front desk here loved to say no, my room was the entry level room and it had no windows save for one that opened to the area where people sat to eat breakfast hence no privacy. dungeon like

Dearest Matthew, We are sadden to hear your disappointment regarding the Alma room. It is our most affordable room and is located in the courtyard area that allows for folks to enjoy dining in. As we are a very small boutique hotel property, I wish we could have all the rooms overlooking the Pacific Ocean so that you could've had that as your view instead of overlooking the garden area in the courtyard. We thank you for your feedback and while we hope you visit Mazatlan again, we appreciate the honesty as there will be times people will be dissatisfied with our small property. We hope you never feel like another hotel delivers a ¨soulless¨ experience. Our apologies for your discontent. Sophia

Dearest S., Wow! Thank you for the wonderful shout out on our breakfast! We too love it and have to refrain from eating all the Huevos Rancheros, Machaca, Lengua, and more or else weight is added to our bodies. Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon! Sophia
