The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful! The views are gorgeous.The food was excellent, but their website was misleading. They advertised a number of restaurants available in the three hotels, but failed to say they werent open every day. You had to check the day before to see if it was open. The entertainment wasn't very elaborate.

The resort is in need of updating and the restaurant choices were very limited. One of the 5 was closed, the Japanese was terrible. We only ate at 2 and of course the buffet, which is the same all the time. 2 weeks of the same food was a tiring. They need to change up the buffet!

Charged $200 when we checked in?? Why?? Were not told about this. (Buyer beware). Food was okay, but not great. Entertainment at night was at 7:30 and in the buffet area so if you didn't eat at that time, you missed entertainment. Paid for Elite but saw no differences other than seperate checkin and checkout. (And we could mix our own drinks in ONE area if we wanted premium alcohol.) Quads ran daily at 630 am back and forth cleaning the beach. IF you were lucky to get a chair on the hotel roped off beach, the local vendors set up other chairs and umbrellas for rent right in front of the beach area, blocking the view. Vendors are on you constantly on the beach (not the hotel's fault, just be aware).

Very disappointed 1) at the checking they overcharged for some unnecessary services that the manager Fernanda and Katia couldn’t not explain as they kept changing their story for the CAD$25 per day (internet use and parking), something we had stated them don’t need them since we travelled by plane and have internet from Canada. Then later changed the version stating was for taxes. Besides this, this is an overrated hotel, not even 2 stars, the drinks disgusting all water down, only provide good service when tipping. Food very bad, no clue about international food. Rooms not clean don’t change the bed sheets, only if you leave a tip every day. If you coming from Canada, stay away from El Cid Resorts, never ever will return to any of their locations, very bad bad experience and hotel.

Worst hotel - we left and lost two days but worth it to get out of there. Room was dirty we didn’t sleep for two days because super loud and no control on guests drinking. Drunks all over, so many kids screaming until 9:30 at night, drunks passed out in chairs on the way to the restaurants.

Just don’t stay here, customer service is horrible from the administration and front office. Not from the bell boys, but from administration and office personnel e experienced horrible treatment. Harassment none stop and discrimination if you book through Expedia. Food is bad and the all inclusive is not worth it, the beds and pillows are bad The floors were dirty could not walk around the room barefoot and not be disgusted. Stay elsewhere, for the same money Pueblo Bonito was recommended by one of the locals, didn’t realize this until I was already here at El CID. Never again going to make that mistake. Seriously DO NOT STAY here.

Hotel and staff were fairly good; the drinks were bottom shelf licor specially the tequila which is what I prefer. Beer was warm and the mixed drinks did not have much liquor. I did enjoy the food but if you want a particular drink I suggest you bring your own liquor and avoid being disappointed. Bartenders were friendly and hard at work but they can only do so much with cheap liquor.

This property is old and outdated. It’s due for some much needed upgrades. I’m glad we didn’t choose the all inclusive option because the food was not good. Luckily there are lots of restaurants in the surrounding area. Our phone never worked, fan could only be placed on one setting, light went off in restrooms but couldn’t get ahold of anyone since our room phone didn’t work. The staff was lovely! Very helpful and friendly.
