Nice stay!

El Cid marina hotel nice relaxing stay, very friendly professional staff and extremely clean rooms! Unfortunately the wifi is poor, main restaurant's food mediocre, pushy time share selling and there was no fitness room. Despite the criticism I would still highly recommend the el cid hotel.

A slice of Mediterranean village

Posted Jan 23, 2015
El Cid Marina is a slice of a Mediterranean village placed amidst "cookie cutter" high rise condos. The property is immaculate. The staff is friendly and supportive reflecting a positive management style. Watching the boats go in and out both the El Cid marina and the town marina is very interesting. The food was good real Mexican food, not TexMex and it seemed the seafood came directly to the plate. Very enjoyable 1 1/2 weeks. Many guests are there for months or living on their boats.

Great visit at El Cid Marina

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The resort was beautiful with all the boats in the harbour. One of the pools was heated perfectly. Access to a laundromat on site was most welcome.
Cons: Need a table or counter to eat, prepare food or play games on. Even a table on the deck would be helpful. Very disappointing chef salad in restaurant
Location: Quiet location away from city traffic. City restaurants were all great and very inexpensive. Trip to historic Durango needs to be a 2-3 day tour.
We were in Mazatlan for 16 days and our only regret was not staying at the El Cid Marina for the whole visit. We spent the first two weeks in other resorts and the final 2 days at Marina. If we ever return to Mazatlan, we'd stay only at the Marina. It was beautiful, quiet, very clean and the staff were very prompt, friendly and helpful. We found the other resorts to be much too loud and the rooms tired and dated. Our Marina room was only a junior suite but it was very bright with plenty of room and a great balcony overlooking the ocean and harbour. The heated pool was wonderful!

The staff is always friendly and the views of the marina from breakfast are great with the sailboats and the sunset over the ocean is very nice.
