Great visit at El Cid MarinaPosted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The resort was beautiful with all the boats in the harbour. One of the pools was heated perfectly. Access to a laundromat on site was most welcome.
Cons: Need a table or counter to eat, prepare food or play games on. Even a table on the deck would be helpful. Very disappointing chef salad in restaurant
Location: Quiet location away from city traffic. City restaurants were all great and very inexpensive. Trip to historic Durango needs to be a 2-3 day tour.
We were in Mazatlan for 16 days and our only regret was not staying at the El Cid Marina for the whole visit. We spent the first two weeks in other resorts and the final 2 days at Marina. If we ever return to Mazatlan, we'd stay only at the Marina. It was beautiful, quiet, very clean and the staff were very prompt, friendly and helpful. We found the other resorts to be much too loud and the rooms tired and dated. Our Marina room was only a junior suite but it was very bright with plenty of room and a great balcony overlooking the ocean and harbour. The heated pool was wonderful!

Great for long stays in the Marina AreaPosted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Rooms are comfy and really large.
Cons: More in-room supplies.
Location: Great for the fishing enthusiast, right in the Marina.
Although old, facilities are refurbished and the service is really good. Pool areas are nice and the overall atmosphere is pleasing.

Vacasiones MazatlanPosted Oct 22, 2014

Beautiful facility.Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Pools, weather, most waiters, our room.
Cons: Make clear the tipping policy.
Location: We went on a bus tour of the city and a boat trip to Deer Island. We also enjoyed a massage.
We were very pleased with the facility and were greeted very warmly. The food was very good and service was good. We were disappointed by having to wear a bracelet to signify our all inclusive status and then having to sign a ticket each time you ate or drank. It has been my impression that all-inclusive covers everything. We were treated rudely one evening by a waiter wanting to be tipped. We tipped when we wanted and did not like being expected to tip each time. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable stay.
