beautiful B&B on the beachPosted Mar 2, 2014
We had a great stay at El Sol La Vida. It's beautiful and kept very clean. It's directly on a quiet beach and is attached to a cafe with wonderful food. It's a little off the beaten path, which is great for a quiet stay on the beach (we hardly saw anyone on the beach!), but it's not near downtown. The owners are great about taking you places or calling taxis for you, so that's helpful. The owners are also native English speakers. It's definitely geared towards couples. I would not recommend for families.

Great place, great location, great hosts !!!!Posted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: The rooms are extremely clean, with very confortable beds and a huge walking-in shower. All the amenities you may need are provided.
Location: Away from traffic and noise (you'll feel so close to nature!!!), but very near Mazatlan's center, if you feel like do some shopping or sightseeing.
This place is an absolute Heaven, right on a beautiful beach (all to ourselves!...), and a wonderful pool surrounded by a green landscape. Linda and Ray are really wonderfull hosts, that made our stay relaxing and confortable. Very helpfull and kind, they really treat us like old friends, always concerned by our needs. They gave us the most wonderful tips for restaurants and places to go. As my husband had to leave for some days and I stayed alone, they took care of me like family. They took me to visit Mazatlan's historical center, and showed me some nice spots in there. Linda arranged a wonderful massage for me and organized a very nice girl shopping trip. The food is healthy and delicious. I live in Europe and had travelled all over the world, and I've never been before in a such amazing place. Thank's again, Linda and Ray, for your hospitality!

Very nice hotel.Posted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved the place. It is a small hotel, and the owners take care personally of the guests. Nice rooms, with a big bathroom, very clean. Quiet place and far from traffic and people.

wonderful stayPosted Mar 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at our timeshare at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay for a week and extended our stay at El Sol for 2 glorious days. Ray and Linda are wonderful hosts. The site of the hotel right on the beach is unbelievable. Pool and seating area great place to watch the pelicans soar by and watch incredible sunsets. We had a early teetime and our hosts setup up breakfast early for us. Of course with the Surf's Up right next door is a big plus. Grounds of hotel immaculate and rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. A must to stay.

The Best Place To Stay In MazatlanPosted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: Off the beaten path. Only four suites. Right on the beach. No vendors. Pool. Great restaurant. You feel right at home. Great owners. Beautiful rooms.
Cons: Wow. If there was anything it would be difficulty we had with the WiFi. But that's stretching it a bit.
Location: Ahh. Away from the mob of the Golden Zone and Olas Altas. El Sol La Vidia is in Neuevo Mazatlan about a mile past Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay.
El Sol La Vida is not like any hotel I’ve ever stayed. There are just four suites, two upstairs and two down. It’s beautifully landscaped and right on the beach. There’s a wonderful pool as well. The rooms are very comfy, well appointed and have huge bathrooms and walk-in showers. Ray and Linda’s daughter, Leanne, has a fantastic café – Surf’s Up Café right on the hotel grounds. All I can say is, FANTASTIC. Leanne, in only a year, has brought her beach side café to number 16 of all restaurants in Mazatlan on Trip Advisor. A testament to her culinary skills and fantastic concoctions – unlike anything you’ll get at any other restaurant in Mazatlan. Yes, El Sol La Vida and the Surf’s Up Café are off the beaten path of the Golden Zone in Nuevo Mazatlan. That’s what makes them so great: laid back; comfortable; relaxing. You have a beautiful beach right at your front door, nearly all to yourself. Feeling like you’re at home, but away – that is El Sol La Vida. When your trip is up and it’s time to leave, believe me – as you hug Ray, Linda and Leanne and say your good byes you feel like you’re leaving part of your family behind. We'll never stay anywhere else.
