Nice for the price

My second time here. Great place, close to the beach. Hotel is clean and has interior courtyard to sit and chat with friends. Restaurant onsite has Karaoke and other nights. Rooms are cool, but could be colder. Beds are hard if you like that. Easy access to taxis and pulmonias. Great shops and restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is great, very comfortable for the price, nice and kindly people working. If you want to feel like you are on 50', or 40's, be there. It is very close to historic places!, and downtown. Wonderful stay!!

Cons: leak on hall floor
Friendly staff and the best view and location. The hotel is old and lacks amenities but location and price make up for it.

Avoid rooms above restaurant unless you like kareoke twice a week plus lots of street noise.probably best to grab rooms at the back of hotel .overall a good safe place stay . Good staff. Lots of good restaurants around . Nice pool. Bank to your left 2 blocks away. Cheap .

Hotel is right on Olas Altas and Historic center

Posted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: Cost and great location.
Cons: Make the windows more noise proof and request that the next door restaurant (Shrimp Bucket) stops music (or lowers its sound level) by 10 pm.
Location: The promadane is an inviting place for walking and sight seeing. Behind the hotel lies an amazing historical area and it includes a lively plaza.
Although the rooms are a bit humble, its central location to the promenade, coffee shops, restaurantes and historic Mazatlan, access to city buses and other forms of transportation, magnificent sunsets, and a promenade that invites everyone to walk (lots of security everywhere) and a great manager (Ruth -you rock!!) makes the place a jewel. Its low cost allowed me to spent my savings at nearby restaurants etc.

Old Town Hotel

I've stayed at Hotel La Siesta many times over the past few years. The rooms are always clean. The staff is friendly. There are many restaurants in the area within walking distance. It's also close to centro historico, downtown, plazuela machado, the clavadistas/divers, and it's located in front of the beach. You can view locals walking the malecon/boardwalk every morning. I like this hotel and recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to the locals.

Best view of Mazatlan period

Posted Dec 9, 2013
Pros: Staff, quaint atmosphere, historic and the VIEWS of oceanfront.
We met here 32 yrs ago, my husband is a local. We love Olas Altas, El Shrimp Bucket, and La Siesta. They treat you like family and the vews of the sunset are the best bar none. It is very close to Plaza Machado where there is much to see, do and eat. Even if you stay in Golden Zone, come here for part of your trip as we do....you won't regret it. Our friends have time share at El Cid and staying at La Siesta was their favorite part of the trip.

Great ocean view!

Pros: The location is simply wonderful.
Cons: Refrigerators and microwaves
Location: Across the street from the beach (great for boogie boarding) and close to the historical center with wonderful restaurants from which to choose.
This is an older hotel undergoing renovation. It lacks some of the usual expected comforts, I.e., no refrigerators/ microwaves (buy a cheap styrofoam chest for perishable snacks/ drinks), but the location is wonderful. It sits across from the Malacon and within walking distance of the central historical district. Many restaurants to choose from. The price make this an exceptional venue.
