“Real Mazatlan”
We had always stayed in the Golden Zone when visiting Mazatlan. This year we thought we would try a place more "real Mazatlan" so we chose the Olas Altas Inn because it was out of the Golden Zone and on the Malecon. It was a good choice. The staff was outstanding, the location great (for what we wanted), and the food excellent. Even though the property was older and on a main road it was maintained well. We were the only English speaking individuals in the hotel as guests but that was not a problem. Everyone was gracious and helpful. The staff spoke little English but we worked it out. The view from the fifth floor of the Malecon and bay/ocean was great as well as the view of the sunsets.
“Excelent service in a beautiful hotel”
My family and me received an excelent service while we were staying at Olas Altas Inn. The room was clean, comfortable. The hotel is located in front the beach, we could walk on the malecon, we also walk to the aquarium!! Congratulations to all the staff, managers, service people, waiters, recepcionist, thank you for your attentions
“Very Relaxing”
My husband and I adore this hotel, every staff member was nice and they allowed us to check in early when we just wanted to make sure we could leave our car there to head over to the beach before we had to check in. we had a beach view which was beautiful, we love that this hotel was in the middle between downtown and the golden zone. the only hassle was the busy street it was on,taxis driving all crazy.
“Not what we wanted”
I went with some friends and we all recommend any other hotel near to the Golden Zone in Mazatlan. The service here is poor and there's no sufficient parking lot.
“Not what it's advertised to be”
My partner and I chose this hotel due to the number of positive reviews on this site. I have to say after staying at the hotel for a week, our expectations did not match reality. While overall it's a fine hotel, there are some important things travelers should be aware of: 1. This hotel is located in an area between the Golden Zone and the historic area of Mazatlan. As a result, it's not located in an area with many restaurants, nightlife, or things to do. Instead, you will have to take a taxi into one of these other areas. 2. The hotel is not located on the beach. It's located across the street from the beach. And this street is a major road in Mazatlan. If your hotel room has an ocean view, then there is a significant amount of traffic noise all day/night. It makes it very difficult to sleep, especially if you're a light sleeper. 3. The hotel staff knows very little English. If you do not know much Spanish, or are looking for a hotel with other English-speaking people, this hotel is not for you. We did not encounter any other English-speaking guests during our week at this hotel. 4. The hotel does not staff the swim up bar in the pool. The pool/lounge area is very small, and if you want a drink, you have to order it from the staff inside the restaurant. No one in the restaurant speaks English. 5. The hallways in the hotel echo very loudly and the walls are extremely thin. We could hear people talking in the hallways and watching TV in the next room all night long.
