GREAT PLACE CENTRAL LOCATION

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: the way the staff was very encouraging when I tried to speak some Spanish.
The Royal Villa was a great place for my 1st visit to Mexico. Centrally located, helpful staff, great surroundings. Pool was great.

Nice place to stay for families

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: location, big rooms with fridge and microwave, pull out bed
Cons: Fix patio door - get rid of smell in room.
Location: Location was good. Near shopping and restaurants in Golden Zone. We only stayed one night but there was a concierge who was willing to help.
This was a nice place to stay. There were several things I liked and a few I didn't. Location, pool, and mini kitchen were nice. Beds were comfortable. What I didn't like was the room had a noticeable smell to it. The pull out couch had a big wet stain, and the patio door was very difficult to open. The room had a balcony but it was shared with several other rooms. The staff around the pool was very attentive and found us chairs in the shade. They don't really have their own beach so there are no palapas or chairs to sit on while on the beach. Christian was very helpful in finding rooms for our family members (from Mexico) who came to visit us. He was willing to work with them and find 3 extra rooms next to each other.

a decent hotel that could be improved

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Cons: don't allow people to reserve the good loungers around the pool with towels. unless you get your towel there at 6 am you are out of luck
good location and decent building. needs a few little things that could make it much better like good wi-fi, queen size beds, softer pillows, a kettle in the room and nice chairs on the balconies. They have great balconies with a couple of horrible white plastic chairs. all the good spots near the pool are "reserved" by 6 am and often only used for a few hours late in the day if at all

Close to everything

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Location on beach
Cons: Need coffee makers in room
Location: Lots of restaurants, on the beach
Overall the staff were very good. The hotel is getting a little worn out but beds were comfortable. The only thing we didn't like was there was no coffee machines in the room. We like to enjoy our coffee on deck in the morning. Great location in gold zone and on the beach.

Great hotel

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Took my girlfriend there to propose every room has a beautiful ocean view. Nice location close to everything very walkable. The breakfast was amazing they had the option for all inclusive but we wanted to try food from all over the city so we opted out but the breakfast we had everyday was great and good prices. Hotel is right on the water and the staff will bring you drinks and food on the beach as well as at the pool. Overall great time I would suggest exchanging your money ahead of time or going to some of the banks to get a better exchange rate.

no such thing as standard room with king bed

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Nice hotel, however, when booking, you have the choice of a standard room with a king bed. No such room exists in the hotel, which necessitates an upgrade for 350 pesos upon arrival. It's a bait and switch. Hotel staff are great. This marketing trickery was the only drawback. Lying to your guests isn't good.
