"Best Hotel in Mazatlan"
I don't think anything compares to this hotel in mazatlan…the resort is absolutely beautiful and the setting is also about as good as it gets. The staff is very accomodating, and the food and drinks make it okay to never leave this place. We go every year, and it never disappoints.

"Will Definitely Go Back"
I recently stayed at an enormous resort in Playa del Carmen that was so big and impersonal. My stay at the Royal Villas was more intimate and friendly. The staff were all so nice...the room was clean and had a beautiful ocean view...I was very impressed. Will definitely be going back!

"Great vacation for the accommodations and low cost"
We did the all inclusive and the food at Cilantros Restaurant was very good and the service was excellent. The sunsets were some of the most beautiful we have seen. While the facility is not new, it is nicely maintained, very clean, and above average for the age of the facility. The beach, restaurants and locations is great for a family vacation. For the package we booked on Expedia, we couldn't have been happier with the food, facility, and excellent, friendly staff.

The staff out at the bar by the pool is very friendly, energetic, professional, and accomodating. By the second day they knew us, our travelling friends, and our room numbers. They made our stay there very comfortable.

"Close to beach but a bit out of town"
First off, LOVE Mazatlan! First time here and we picked it be cause we wanted a place that was not overly touristy. We got exactly what we wanted. Crowne Plaza is located about 30 minutes from downtown but it's a fun cab ride. The hotels staff especially the waiters were very friendly and the food was good. Beautiful location with a great pool but also the option of going in the ocean.

"Lovely authentic Mexican vacation"
If you are looking for a vacation with a true feeling of authentic Mexico, Mazatlan is for you. The hotel is on the best beach throughout the golden zone. Within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and shopping. It is worth the extra fee to have the ocean view room. We were on the third floor...what a killer-view!! Old town is a short ride for wonderful restaurants, art studios and music. This is a clean simple hotel.

"Nice Place, Mostly Laid Back"
It was all in all a good experience. This hotel is far from any activities so bring your cab budget. It's like 100 ($7.50 USD) pesos to the Golden Zone. I found that much of Mazatlán is Spanish speaking only. My experiences in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Playa Del Carmen, and Cancun had many more folks who were bilingual. Shame on me for not being but for a tourist town I'd expected a bit less trouble communicating with hotel staff. We were there for 6 nights and only had two real issues during the stay. The first was that they were replacing pool deck tiles with a hammer, chisel, and sometimes a jackhammer. This noise was unbearable, especially bright and early in the morning. A brief question to the head maintenance guy and the noise was limited to afternoon hours and stopped completely over the weekend. Gracias! The next was Sunday night when there were many local guests and everyone had a boombox and/or too much to drink making for loud voices. That quieted down about 11pm but 15m later, the Karaoke started up in the room above ours. They ran until about 3am. That was a bit tough. The final thing was that the pool could have been operated better. It was one of those 'zero edge' pools that requires water to spill over the edge to be automatically skimmed. The water level was too low so it wasn't being skimmed and after busy days there was a float of debris including body and tanning oils on the surface.
