“It's ok but don't expect much”

Overall my stay was ok. I had a room with a king sized bed and a couch. The coffee maker didn't have any coffee packets and the refrigerator didn't really keep anything cold. I don't feel that the money I paid is worth the hotel. I have stayed at other hotels in the valley that are nicer and I paid much less. Yet, if I had nowhere else to stay then I would stay here again in the future.

Area recommendations

Stay in Weslaco. A little bit of a drive but nicer and cheaper.

“very satisfied”

This hotel was very clean, staff very polite and helpful, no doubt I would stay here again.

Area recommendations

The area around the Mcallen , Texas airport has many restaurants and shopping plazas and a mall. Scattered through out the area is historic sites, museums, and 1 1/2 hr drive to beautiful South Padre Island. Awesome area to travel.

1 1/2 hr drive from the hotel to beautiful South Padre Island. Fun water sports, fishing and beaches.

“nothing works”

wi-fi didn't work, telephone didn't work, alarm clock didn't work, coffee machine in room but NO coffee. went to front desk, told them. nothing was done definitely not a hotel Expedia should promote

“Decent for the price”

Decent for the price - in a bit of an industrial area - closer to Hidalgo and the border but if you want to be near restaurants etc find a hotel in McAllen proper

“Got what I paid for”

This was a nice hotel, but I can be better. The room was average, but they only have one trash can in the whole room. The TV was fine with lots of channels, but I wanted to watch a DVD and the room did not have a DVD Player. Breakfast was very minimal limited only to some sweet bread, cereal, coffe, juice and waffles. I stayed 2 days and they never did house keep the room. Location was fine since it is less than 10 minutes from the border, Will I ever visit this hotel again, I would say probably yes, since the price was very good, and that is a big plus for me. Do I recommend this hotel? I would say that if you don't mind having a small room only to have your stuff during the day and spend the night, for little money then I recommend it to you.

“Great for the money!”

The hotel was priced right and the service was excellent.

Area recommendations

The central to the northern part. There are more restaurants, churches and museums there.

What to pack

Sunglasses and a full cover hat to protect the ears and eyes.

Other

The Santa Anna Wildlife Refuge and the South Padre Island were great places to see and reasonable.

“Will go back”

Staff was very accomodating. They have laundry facilities and when I went to use them the dryer did not work right. When I went to the office to let them know, they allowed me to dry my clothes in their industrial dryers at no charge. This was one of the nicest hotel/motels we stayed at on our extended trip.
