“Excellent Hotel”

The Grand Hotel in Mckinney is a great choice if you are staying in McKinney or the area and also for a destination weekend getaway. It combines modern accomodations with a sense of history, very laid back and is on the downtown historic square. Rick's Chophouse is attached and the food is excellent. The downtown square is quiet and comfortable for a stroll after dinner. We were staying in this area and the options were primarly those on 75 and the Grand and we were very happy we chose the Grand.

“Fanstastic”

Our anniversary trip was very enjoyable. We have stayed in the finest antebellum manisions in the Deep South, and the Grand Hotel was as good as any of them.

Supply extra pillows in the room. King size bed had only one pillow each and we sleep on 2.

“Beautiful hotel in a great location”

Adorable boutique hotel in a historic building. Great furnishings and beautiful setting. Since it is in an old building, you can sometimes hear other noises, but other than that it was a nice quiet stay. Close to plenty of restaurants and shops and feels completely safe at night.

“Allow time for shopping in the square!”

If you are claustrophobic, you might want to make sure that you get an "outer" room at this hotel. Our room was an "inside" room which meant NO windows. Since we got in really late and we just stayed one night, it was tolerable. Other than that, the staff was super nice, rooms were nicely decorated, lobby was very nice, and it's a great location for McKinney with GREAT shopping in the square. You can just walk out the front door, grab a coffee at the local coffee shop next door, and spend the day walking around the square and shopping at some really cute stores. Would love to go back and spend more time there.

“Cold showers in McKinney”

There was not any covered parking or valet service. I took a cold shower the first morning and a lukewarm shower the second morning. I guess heating water costs too much in McKinney. I have stayed in less expensive hotels with more comfortable rooms.
