“Didn't find out until we were home a shirt was missing.”
We stayed at this hotel for four nights. We were going to be visiting family and doing ancestry research. We were gone all day, every day. We only came to the hotel to sleep and shower. When we went out for the day, we took all our cameras, phones, computers and anything else valuable. We left our clothes and snacks. We had even purchased some things at a festival nearby, and left those in the car. When we returned home, we realized a shirt from the first day was missing. There were only two adult travelers. We had separate bags for our dirty clothes. We checked and rechecked, but we know the shirt disappeared from the hotel. One day upon returning from our research the channel on the TV was changed. We were watching something specific when we left. I guess it's not unlikely to have the TV on while cleaning, but we thought it odd. After getting home, we wondered what else they may have been doing with the TV on. Since it was a few days after returning, we never notified the hotel when the shirt was discovered missing. Then time just got away. Now it seems useless to bring it up, but for what it's worth. Check all your stuff before leaving hotels and make a claim right away. The shirt was new and had become a favorite right away, and it has been re-purchased. Next time we go down that way I will stay at a different hotel, and be even more diligent.
