Cons: expand the breakfast options just a bit more
Location: plenty of shopping and eating options just up the road.

Pros: Entire hotel is very clean.
Cons: More selections at breakfast.
Location: Easy access from 295N
First was the nice welcome from staff. Very clean and comfortable facilities. TV that had a great picture, easy wifi access and nice quick breakfast.

Last minute reservation.

We made this reservation at the last minute due to a death. It was very comfortable and the staff was very nice. We asked about booking another night and they were very accommodating. Would stay there again.

Had to change rooms because the toilet and bath were filthy when we got to the room. Second room, the heater/ac did not work. Also gave other guests a key to our room, so that when we were going to bed 2 strangers walked into the room. Breakfast was terrible, though we had no expectations that it would be good. Front desk clerks were awesome however.

We understand that your stay here last week Friday was completely unacceptable, and we hope that you understand that many of the challenges you experienced were very atypical of this hotel's reputation. It is our goal to exceed all our guests' expectations and if you have some time in the near future, I would like to encourage you to reach out to my office so we can discuss this further. The condition of your first room was unacceptable and the reason we moved your room, but we were unaware of the challenge with the ac/heater in your second room, and the key incident was a complete human error made due to confusion at the front desk due to your room move, that has never happened before in my experience here. I sincerely apologize for your experience with us and hope that you will stay with us again in the future to see the service we strive to provide all of our guests here at the Hampton Inn Mechanicsville, and I am sure that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Everything about our stay was perfect! From the kind greeting and enthusiastic welcome to the delicious breakfast, it was all we could hope for. Hampton Inn will always be a family favorite.
