Oasis in chaotic MedanPosted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, pleasant room and tranquillity
Cons: I suggest that they attend to better signage. The hotel name is obscured by plants and we drove right past it.
Ellie welcomed us with refreshing cold banana juice, suggested a dip in the pool and offered us swim towels. She also arranged a car to take us to the airport early the next morning as well as a packed breakfast. We enjoyed good Indonesian food at their Omlandia Restaurant.

Clean, quiet hotel with lovely staff.Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Tranquility, lovely gardens, cleanliness & staff.
Cons: Timing for the trip to Bukit Lawang for non-hikers. We spent a lot of time hanging around with our 4 year old since he wasn't up for the 3 hr hike.
Location: Burkit Lawang Orangutan Sanctuary 3 hr drive away. The 45 min walk & boat trip was perfect for our 4 year old. We enjoyed the sights from the car too.
This was an impulsive trip based on other traveller feedback and price. We left home with an open mind not knowing what to expect. What we found was a quiet oasis set back from a busy main street. The cottage was clean and spacious, the hotel staff were polite, helpful and friendly. There were toys in the Restaurant for little kids and a little play area in the garden. The restaurant menu was surprisingly large for such a small place. The owners personally checked that we were happy. We booked both airport transfer and a day trip through the hotel who organised a driver, guide and permits for us. Our driver was friendly and reliable, our guide was a lovely local man who spoke good English, carried our tired 4 year old on his back and took good care of us. Special thanks to Ariff for driving us safely.

After 2 days on the road in Sumatra, it was great to find an oasis of calm and tranquillity in Medan... The pool was nice.

Lovely but not honeymoon friendly...Posted Mar 30, 2013
Beautiful place, even better at nighttime. "Double" bed is just two singles pushed together though and the curtains were kind of see through which made it a bit difficult for or honeymoon stay :-P

Relaxing, quiet, comfortable, friendly staffPosted Sep 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for 2 nights to relax into our holiday after a long flight, and we hardly left the hotel. We were virtually the only guests, but I suspect even at full capacity the hotel would remain a quiet place to relax in. Staff were uniformly helpful and friendly, and the free airport transfer went perfectly smoothly. You can hang out by (or in) the very clean swimming pool, eat at the restaurant (the food was plain but reasonably priced), or just enjoy the room and gardens. There isn't much nearby (we walked around the local streets a bit; people were very surprised to see westerners out and about in their neighbourhood) but I understand a taxi ride to Medan would be pretty cheap. Overall, good if you need a place to chill out in comfortable surrounds. Bad if you're planning to indulge in a 24-hour food and shopping extravaganza.
