Chill Spot

Good location. Quaint spot with all you need for a relaxing stay. Had good biscuits and gravy for free breakfast. Overall no problems at a good price.

Great deal in Ashland

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: price, free breakfast, friendly staff, nearby bicycle rental and bagel place.
We were happy to find a reasonably priced hotel in Ashland, since we were already spending so much money on theater tickets. Our room worked well for our family of four. The d├ęcor is a bit 1970s but it is a nice break from the similar look of all chain hotels. The breakfast buffet was nice, with plenty of sunny outdoor seating. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The only downside was it was too far to walk to play performances.

Hotel has nice layout

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The pools were great. The room felt clean. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast was poor, compared to others we've had for the same price. Pool selection. Over by 9 a.m. (teens like to sleep). Ran out of food early.
We were happy with the room and felt it was roomier than many, probably because it had a little hallway by the bathroom and sink area, which led to a second door. The room could, therefore, be accessed from two sides (it had a front and back door, essentially). There were two pools (an indoor and an outdoor). The indoor was small, but it was warm and was sort of a cross between a hot tub and an pool. My boys loved it! Both pools were clean. The outdoor pool was in a nice courtyard area. Quite pleasant. We all slept well.

Cheap...yet not worth the money

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Tough question...
Cons: An owner who desired to provide quality lodging at a reasonable price.
Location: A bit too far from downtown Ashland
The Cedarwood motel outside of Ashland is too far to walk back and forth to downtown on a regular basis and the price reflects the location and lack of amenities...But the lack of cleanliness, bored or indifferent staff and an uncomfortable bed make this a motel we will never need to experience again.

Good location, short drive to theaters, and shop

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Our room was in the back, very quiet, no road noise. Breakfast was on par with free breakfasts in most moderately priced hotels.
Cons: Utensils, etc. in the kitchenette are fairly sparse. Could use a sponge or dish cloth, knife, and a saucepan.
The room was okay, clean enough and comfortable.

Very Uncomfortable

The room was so small you couldn't turn around in it and you could hear guests in the next rooms as though they were in the room with you. I won't stay there again.

2 showers!!! 2 swimming pools! 2 much fun.

Pros: 2 showers!!! 2 swimming pools! 2 much fun.
Cons: There's plenty to work on, and they are making progress. Good owners
Location: Duh! Plays!
This is not the newest hotel I've ever stayed at, but it was clean and well laid out and the staff was excellent. We stayed in the large room with a separate bedroom, and the luxury of having two showers was excellent. For our large group I would rather have that then marble floors and fancy carpets. Finally I can afford take my kids to Ashland!!!!!

No privacy.

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Economical.
Cons: Lace curtains to go with the room darkening drapes.
Location: Within a short five minute drive to the center of the town.
We had no lace curtains in the windows, only room darkening drapes, so we could not open them without people being able to look in our room. No cool air coming from the air conditioner. We had to sleep without any covers to stay cool.

Rustic Inn.

Pros: Attractive.
Location: Close to Ashland Shakespeare Festival but not walking distance.
Very comfortable. Side walks uneven. Soft beds a bit jiggly. Nice pools and sauna. Typical continental breakfast. I would stay there again.
