“Won't be back.”
This was our second visit this year. There won't be a third. The first room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned. The second rooms carpet was dirty. The sheets looked wrinkled...almost as if they hadn't been washed (I'm assuming they had been because they didn't smell bad). The fan/light combo in the bathroom made a horrible racket when turned on. Some of the bath linen had stains. I complained at checkout, but the man at the desk didn't seem to be interested. You get what you pay for.
“Excellent value for money”
We travel to Ashland every year for the Shakespeare Festival. Over the years we have tried a lot of hotels in the area around Ashland. Since we simply require a place to sleep, we have simple requirements. A clean room, quiet, easy access to motorway and Ashland. We spend our days touring the area, so driving into Ashland and parking for the shows s no problem to us. Econo lodge has proven to be the best solution for us, plus it offers a continental breakfast if you want it. It is very close to the I5, but far enough away that the motorway noise is not an issue. 5 minutes gets you downtown Ashland. The rooms have been refurbished and are clean bright and quiet, perfect for us.
“Wouldn't stay again”
The bed was thin and hard. The ottoman was wore out you could feel the springs when you sat on it. The bathroom was so small you had to leave the door open when you went to the bathroom. The bathtub had patches of where it was repaired multiple times. It was nice to have internet but it took me awhile to get connected. The price was nice but I rather pay more to have better accomodations.
“hotel needs repairs”
The mattress was very thin and the blankets and duvet were worn and tattered. The area was under construction and was very difficult to get to. We will stay down the road next time
“A Real Bargain”
The Econolodge in Ashland is not luxury, and its too far from downtown Ashland and the OSF to walk. But its a short drive, the hotel is clean, albeit not brand new, you get a decent breakfast and the price is very reasonable.
“Good Value for Ashland”
Location is very convenient to Ashland albeit not the most scenic. It's literally right next to the I-5 exit, and only a couple minutes (by car) away from downtown. You could stay in a nicer place for less up in Medford, but if you're in town for Ashland, I don't think it's worth the time to drive up and down I-5. Front desk staff was wonderful - handled special requests and answered touristy questions. They are well stocked with local brochures, maps, etc. The guy maintaining the breakfast room was very attentive. I didn't even realize they gave you breakfast, so that was a nice surprise. It's pretty standard - 3 minute waffle iron (with ready-made mix), cereal, muffins, bagels, juice from concentrate, etc. The coffee was good. There was wear and tear evident in the room, but it was clean and safe. It's about what you would expect for an Econo Lodge. My only complaint (hence the "2" for comfort) is that I was awoken around 5:00 am by water running loudly through pipes (somebody taking a shower?). That's not anybody's fault, just how the building was constructed. Otherwise I had no problems with noise.
“Not Impressed.”
Not the least bit impressed. The bathroom was so small that you had to get to the side of the toilet in order to close the door. Also, the ottoman was so used that you could feel the slats under the cushion when you sat on it. I would never go back there even if it was free!
“Affordable and Decent”
The hotel staff were very kind and accomodating, it was nice to have waffles for breakfast and a clean little pool situated on the end of the hotel rather than in a courtyard surrounded by rooms. There was also an Oregon vistors bureau right there at the hotel, and laundry machines. Room was clean except for box spring stains, however, we had ants on the floor and nightstand. The staff vacuumed them up right away and let us know that was a first, but ants came back again the next day. We did not have food or drink in our room to attract them. Hotel was quiet despite being close to the highway, and it was great to be able to bring our dog. This hotel is not located near downtown Ashland; you have to get in your car and drive a couple miles to get there. Overall it was reasonably priced, good service, tidy, and not fancy.
“Pretty good value”
The price was good. Clean room. Basic. No frills. Nice to have internet. Wish there were a few more food choices at the continental breakfast, but gotta love the belgian waffle maker!
“Excellent and made out stay in Ashland worthwhile”
Ashland is noted for live theatre, we arrived that day not having planned anything, luckily the staff knew we needed to book and gave us the details of doing so so we saw 2 great plays and had a lovely stay.
