One of the cheaper, cleaner places in AshlandPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was a step up from a Continental breakfast
Cons: More eating space in the morning and sound dampening in the breakfast room
Location: The hotel was pretty close to downtown Ashland and the Shakespeare Festival. I think the University was right across the street, but not certain.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a two Queen-Bed room for three people. Bathroom was tiny and room was kind of dark. Bedding looked new and clean. Lots of pillows on the beds. Overall, comfortable and clean for just sleeping, would not have been suitable for "hanging out." This hotel seemed expensive for what you get, but when compared to other hotels in the area, it seemed like an OK value.

Comfort and ConveniencePosted Sep 22, 2013
Pros: Hotel two miles from shopping, theaters and marvelous restaurants. Large comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast featuring hot biscuits and grav
Cons: Add apples to the breakfast.
Location: Located only two miles from excellent, unique shops, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Theaters, and many wonderful restaurants and lovely Lithia Park.
Stayed at the Flagship Inn of Ashland while attending five plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Room was beyond our expectations: very large, with two queen beds, numerous electrical outlets, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, bright with large windows and many overhead lights. Best of all, two sinks, plenty of counter space and a well lighted mirror. Shower and toilet in a separate room. Luxury linens on a super comfortable bed...perfect for two women with laptops and cell phones to charge.

Can't RecommendPosted Sep 21, 2013
Room on the back side was quiet. Picknic area was nice. BUT: no matter how much we aired the room out, it continued too smell damp/mildewy.

Nice for a passing through motel.Posted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: It was clean
Cons: TV didn't work well- pain to use- let guests chose their coffee and not charge .75 for a different type of coffee.
Pool was "solar heated" which meant the sun going over - no sign of solar heat and the pool was COLD on Sept. 15th. All the pool lounges and chairs were plastic- all had broken parts and the chair dropped toward the ground when you got in. Not a great pool place. Breakfast was OK and the man serving was very friendly. When we asked for a downstairs room for one of our party who has bad hips and cannot do stairs very well they said No but the clerk then moved someone around and gave us a ground floor room. Two floors with no elevator!!

Good location, large roomPosted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Location and breakfast
Location: The Inn is directly across the street from SOU and within walking distance to Omar's, one of the best restaurants in Ashland.
We were in Ashland to visit our son, a student at SOU. The Flagship Inn is directly across the street from the college. The room was large and clean. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked and offered a nice selection.

Not too greatPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Beds were comfortable and included several pillows. Liked the in-room Keurig coffee maker.
Cons: Bathroom is in dire need of updating. Formica countertop was pealing. Linoleum in tub area old and dirty looking. Built-in furniture needs replacing.
Location: Really need a car to get into the Ashland downtown, about 1-1/2 miles away.
This is an old motel that, despite attempts to improve the décor, really shows its age. It didn’t help that we were greeted by a young man who could not have cared less about customer service. The room had a moldy, sour smell. Furniture was old. It and the walls & doors were scratched, chipped and dented. The bathroom was tiny with a small sink surrounded by a pealing Formica countertop. On top was a rather dirty looking, non-working hair dryer (replaced at our request with one only slightly better). I would rate the cleanliness as average. The sink, tub, toilet appeared clean; rug had been vacuumed; and sheets were laundered. But in a place this old, it’s difficult to remove the accumulation of dirt in the cracks and corners.

Walls were a little thin, allowing sounds to penetrate. But overall a nice, clean, inexpensive place to stay.

Family of four vacation in Ashland.Posted Sep 6, 2013
hotel staff were very nice. Facilities were decent but certainly not fancy. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Location on main road was easy to find, right next to university campus, and was convenient to downtown. Breakfast was passable but rather disappointing. We ended up picking up additional food and better coffee the second day. Pool not heated but looked clean and nice.

Convenient & priced rightPosted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
The price was right, the rooms was a good size and clean. Bathroom vent could be stronger to take the steam out of the room but over all it was good value. Very convenient to down town walking or taking the bus which stops right outside the hotel.

Our favorite place to stay in Ashland!Posted Sep 2, 2013
This was our third stay at the Flagship. We had tried 4 other motels, before discovering that the Flagship was the one for us. It combines comfort with cleanliness and is in a great location -- just a few minutes from downtown and a 2 minute walk from our favorite breakfast place. All the rooms have been remodeled, and while the bathrooms didn't get much more than a fresh coat of paint and a new shower curtain and rod, there are new beds and bedding that were a great investment. I can't remember ever sleeping in a ~$100/night motel room with such great beds. Makes it easy to fall asleep and stay asleep. You can still hear other guests in their rooms, water running, voices, etc, but I've found that all hotels at this price point suffer from noise pollution, so I don't hold that against them. I can't speak to the continental breakfast they provide, so if this is important to you, be sure and check out other reviews. Almost forgot to mention - they upgraded their in-room coffee service. Our room didn't have the standard ~$20 mini-coffee maker, they had replaced it with one of those single-serving Keuring-type devices and 12 ounce coffee cups to make it in. My morning coffee was so much better than the usual motel room fare that it's just one more reason that we'll be coming back to the Flagship again and again.
