Reliably clean with Hardboiled Eggs
Posted Jan 11, 2013
The Flagship Inn is a clean, reliable, boring roadside motel. It does its job well. Just what you would expect. Certainly not disappointing. They could liven the rooms up significantly by just displaying art that relates to the location -- Ashland, Oregon. Reproductions of posters from the OSF plays would be perfect. The only stand-out feature of the motel was the continental breakfast; the coffee was actually good, and they offered hard boiled eggs and bagels!

Location: Good proximity to SOU campus
Very clean room with comfortable beds. Microwave and small refrigerator in room was a nice touch. Front desk staff were very friendly. We were there for a SOU function and the location to the campus can't be beat. Right across the street. Free breakfast was pretty sparse by the time we got there so get there early if you plan to eat. We will definitely stay here again.

Pros: value, safety, and cleanliness
Cons: breakfast
Location: It is about a mile plus from downtown Ashland. It is across the street from the college.
We have stayed here a couple of times while visiting family in Medford. We stayed in the back building this time (#330), which was a very nice room, and much nicer than the room we stayed in last year, which was on the backside of the front building. The room last year was somewhat dated, worn and dark. Our room this year had: new, fashionble bedding, was bright, and had a newer, more user friendly bathroom. It seemed cleaner than last year (it was very clean), but that may have been because the room last year was dated and worn. The free breakfast is ok (C ). It would be nice if it was a little closer to the action of downtown Ashland, so that one could easily walk back to the hotel after shopping, the theatre, having a couple of drinks, or power walking through Lithia Park.

Pros: Location near the university, excellent water pressure, pool but was very cold (not heated)
Cons: Smell of smoke in the room, bad ventilation, was getting muggy after the shower
Location: Awesome
Hotel was good for a one night stay on our way to California. Slept very well, though some neighbors had some TV on for a while. Hotel is quiet, bed was firm and cozy. After getting the keys for the room, we could not find the room, it was because it was in some sort of underground level, i decided to call "bottom deck of the flagship"....

Pros: Excellent staff, Room is very spacious loved the double sink. Very Cleaned rooms, felt very safe, parking lot well lit, Enjoyed our stay at Flagship
Cons: I can't find nothing that can be improved
Location: Southern Oregon University is right across the street, everything is all in walking distance and its a great walk to restaurants.
First time in Ashland Oregon, easy to find. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were always cleaned, no bad experience everything was great at the Flagship Inn will be our place of stay when we visit again....

Not 2.5 *

Disappointed in what Expedia would rate as a 2.5 star "motel". There were some recent upgrades (flat panel TV, Keurig coffee maker), but the whole place is very dated and old musty smell from old motels is prevalent. The wifi was not working well, but that's probably because our room was the furthest from the WAP antenna. We booked it with Expedia's unpublished rate deal, but we asked for room for 2 adult and one child but only got a queen size bed.

For those with simple and basic expectations
Posted Jan 30, 2013
Pros: Good bed and linens
Cons: Carpet
Location: Too far from downtown to walk; however, in a safe neighborhood.
This is a basic motel striving to meet basic standards. The room was clean with ample and simple amenities. Carpet is dreadful -- when will motels move to non carpeted flooring? I had no issue staying there for 2 nights just to get some rest from travels and enjoy Ashland. I would only recommend it to someone who understood the limitations. People were lovely!
