Reasonable price, indoor pool

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Ashland and OSF
Cons: Clean the pool and turn down the heat, at least in summer. Repair broken things in rooms. Provide better quality food.
Location: Oregon Shakespeare Festival
The room was in the basement, and there is no elevator to the basement. There is one to the other floors, just not to the basement. Don't mind stairs, except when loading luggage in and out of a room. Nothing available on upper floors with 2 queen beds. Nice staff, although housekeeping didn't seem to understand how to throw out empty bottles, clear dirty hotel dishes, etc. The baseboard was peeling off the walls. Nice to have an indoor pool, especially with a child. But the pool is over-heated and not very clean. Felt more like a grungy bath. Full breakfast is included. Also nice and convenient. Unfortunately the food is not very good.

Great hotel for kids and quick access to Asland

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The room was large and the pool great for the kids. The laundry was very easy to use and great value.
Great value, the room was quiet even with the air conditioner on. The pool was great for the kids. A laundry was easy to use and good price (1.25) the staff was very efficient.

Expected more

The other La Quinta was quite decent, clean and cheery but we were very disappointed with this one in Ashland. Smelly, very outdated and the breakfast was not as good as the other one.

Nice hotel with easy access from I5

Posted Jul 31, 2014
We arrived very late at night and weary. Our concierge Charles was great. He anticipated our needs and had everything ready, efficiently checked us in walked us through things like wifi and room temp controls. The room was very comfy and the perfect temperature. We slept like babies.

basic comforts

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: clean and comfy
Cons: ice machine was loud, view out our window was the freeway
Location: Shakespeare Festival! Downtown Ashland -- beautiful area.
the hotel had all the basic comforts we wanted and expected. it was right off the freeway, and we were near the ice machine, so heard that a lot. But otherwise it was clean, friendly, comfortable, and a good rate. Plus a 5 minute drive from downtown Ashland.

Great bed!

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The bed, of course--front desk personnel very helpful and pleasant, too.
Cons: Less sugar, more protein offerings for breakfast, please.
Location: An easy drive to downtown Ashland and all it offers; quick access to I-5 for arrival and departure
In Ashland for medical reasons, we found the La Quinta a serviceable place to stay. The hotel is easy to find. Check-in went efficiently after which we drove to downtown Ashland for dinner and a walk in Lithia Park. The king bed was very comfortable; other than that, the room was quiet, clean, and kept up, but the fixtures are a bit tired. Breakfast is unremarkable--convenient, but nothing spectacular about the offerings.

Dirty and costly for nothing

Won't ever go to a LaQuinta again! Not worth the cost phone did not work! Got in late and the air conditioning system complicated. Very dusty and dirty behind the bedside table. Exposed cords on the phone.........................etc

Easy access to freeway, loved the pool

Posted Jun 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
I wish the hotel was closer to downtown Ashland, as parking downtown is not always easy, especially on graduation weekend! But it was easy to get too, and right off the freeway. Our room downstairs had no view but it was very quiet. My kids loved the 24 hour pool and hot tub. It was so nice to be able to use it whenever we wanted!! My kids also loved the waffles at the free breakfast!

Loved this hotel!

This hotel was perfect for our 2 night stay in Ashland in the middle of a 10 day road trip. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Entire hotel and room was very clean, good neighborhood, very close to downtown Ashland. Counter staff were very nice and helpful. Nice indoor pool for the kids. Laundry facilities were a bonus since we were camping the rest of our trip. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, toast/bagels/muffins, juice, coffee, etc. Evening cookies were a nice touch :-)

Never again...

Posted Jun 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Would never stay here again! Waited fifteen minutes to check in due to receptionist completing call in reservations in front of those waiting to check in. Rule number one in retail: "Take care of the person in front of you before the ones on the phone!" They have already made the effort. This hotel also has one of those crude "energy saver" systems where you have to insert your key into a slot for the lights and air conditioner to work. It must also be on a timer even with the key as my air conditioner turned itself off sometime during the night, which resulted in me waking up uncomfortably hot and turning it back on, and taking another hour to fall back asleep in the middle of the night. Why? To save a couple bucks on their power bill? Here's a newsflash...raise your rates a couple bucks and let people be comfortable! The rooms were very dated (my guess late 80's) and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. In the morning when I tried to have breakfast, the choices were lacking and the breakfast room was so small, you couldn't even move through the room with others waiting to try to get some food. Horrible experience that is a tarnish to the hotel chain name!
