You will get what you paid for

Posted Aug 31, 2014
The hotel needs serious updates, but the room was reasonably big and clean. Don't expect it to be a fancy hotel. It's a normal local motel and you get what you paid for.

Bait and switch, attempted scam

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: One of the three employees I encountered was pleasant
Cons: Web advertising to accurately reflect that they are not a dog-friendly hotel; lack of civility of manager and desk personnel; apparent attempt to scam
Location: Ashland is a wonderful and unique little town; away from the perimeter of the hotel I found people to be friendly, and enagingly quirky.
The hotel is mentioned in several sites as pet friendly. When I arrived, having pre-paid, I asked for a pet friendly room. I was told in the rudest way that animals were not allowed and if I took a dog into the room I would be charged a $100 cleaning fee. I said, "no problem, I will leave them in the RV". And I did; the dogs never left the RV my one night at the hotel. In the morning as I was about to drive off, there was a loud knock on my window, and the "manager" said that I had violated the hotel policy by taking the dog into the room. I assured him that I had not. He shouted that there was dog hair all over the room. When I asked him to show me, he took me into the room where the maid pointed out three (3) small white hairs on the already not very clean carpet. I insisted that either all three were there when I arrived or that they were tracked in on somebody's shoes. Most certainly no dogs had entered the room while I was there. I refused to pay any cleaning fee and as I was driving off the manager shouted at me, "Bad karma...it will come back to you. I strongly advise anyone to avoid the temptation save a buck by staying at the Medford Inn. Not worth it. Oh, the young woman working in the breakfast room was quite pleasant. Doubt she will last long there.

Perfect for my needs

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Room was clean. pool was nice.
Cons: Little repair job done on wall looked a little unprofeccional. And would have been nice if we had wifi. The password didn't work for our devices.
Location: Plenty or restraunts to eat at in walking distance. And stores if u need anything.
Hotel staff was very pleasant. Tried to get early check in but wasn't able too. Wifi wasn't working at time of stay.

Good value for weary travelers.

Older motel from a bygone era, but kept up well and clean, with a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy and the pool was not heated, but almost half of the price of the newer chain hotels, even though there were almost no rooms left on a Friday night at 6:00 when we made the reservation. In other words they kept their prices fair even until they filled up, which is more than I can say for some of the larger chains. Continental breakfast was sparse and carbo-centric, but not the worst I have had.
