“For the Price Paid, an OK hotel.”

The motel room was clean and servicable. Nothing extra and nothing fancy. The walls are pretty thin, I could here someone snoring in the next room and it sounded like someone was going to fall through the ceiling a couple of times. The bed was really comfortable though.

Area recommendations
Downtown Ashland is great! Lots of fun quaint little shops to browse in and the people are very friendly. Lithia Park in the downtown area is absolutely beautiful and it has a great play area for kids.

“Don't Change a Thing, Timbers Motel!”

I stayed at a motel 6 in Washington previous to my visit to Timbers Motel and the comparison was very surprising, given that the deal I got for the fridge-microwave room (room 7) was the same price per night. I went there with my husband with location and price as m biggest motivating factors and I was delighted by the old-school charm Timbers Motel offered. It is a parking lot away from a major grocery store and very close to the min downtown. The staff were helpful and polite without being fake, which was also a contrast from motel 6. I loved that they had a real key, not a key card. The room was spacious and included a small table and dining chairs which was just about perfect. I was so relaxed there! The only caveat: there is no way to figure out how to turn on the shower unless you call the front desk for a totally non-intuitive trick. They answered right away to tell me but it seems like a well-posted sign in the bathroom would work better. Still, this is my new destination for the next time I'm in Ashland.

“"Staying with the reliable"”

This is my fourth visit to The Timbers, and I am still pleased with it. Although this is a hotel in the style of the 1950s and 60s, it has added amenities over the years to keep it up to date in the class of modest comfort and value. I particularly like the easy access, on foot, to shopping, breakfast and laundry and, a short trip by car, to the theater.

“Not what I expected.”

Person in the office was barely civil. Room was clean but rather shabby. Sheets were almost threadbare. Toilet ran at intervals all night long. Wall AC was noisy and wasn't really able to cool the room--temp outside was nearly 100. Advertised as having free wireless internet, but when I tried to use it, it needed a password that the desk clerk had neglected to give me, so I didn't bother with it--still annoying that I wasn't given the password upon check-in. Sound carried easily through paper-thin walls. The room was very lacking for its price.

“Older, affordable, comfortable.”

We like staying at The Timbers when we make our annual trip to Ashland to see a play. It is near our favorite pizza restaurant and other good eating places. It is away from downtown, but driving and parking has never been a problem.

“cramped quarters”

The bedding was very clean but the walls were very thin! People were up late partying next door. The rooms were very small.

“A good stop-over”

On our trips from CA through OR, we always stop in Ashland to enjoy its ambiance and to play in Lithia Park. We stayed at the Timbers Motel twice last week, on the out and return journeys. Both times we were happy with the rooms, they were comfortable, and we liked the coffee, tea, juice and real English muffins they served for breakfast. The only thing was that the second time, the room could have been cleaned a little better. It was as if the previous guest had had greasy fingers and the remote, lamp switches and door knobs were greasy as a result. They should probably make sure to clean those areas of their rooms too. But other than that the rooms were just fine. Inexpensive and clean.

Area recommendations
Lithia Park. It's beautiful and great for adults and kids and dogs. You can spend hours there and enjoy the sights and get some great exercise before more hours in the car.

“It was acceptable for my needs at the time.”

Timbers Motel is a small motel that was shoehorned into an odd-shaped lot on the main street leading into the downtown area of Ashland. The staff was pleasant and courteous and the room quite adequate as far as my needs were concerned. It would be a good place for someone on a tight budget.
