Needs renovations

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Staff, location, view
Cons: The hotel needs major revamping
Location: Not far from the CBD, St Kilda.
I bought a suite - overlooking Albert park - nice large room, lovely view... We got the feeling it was the room that all the broken equipment got swapped out of... The hotel was full because it was AFL grand final weekend. The room we were placed in had so many faults - neither TV would turn on (there were 2), there were cracks in the walls, the wall safe wouldn't work (and couldn't be fixed for two days), the toilet roll holder was jammed and would only let one sheet go out at once, the bed was so soft on the edges that if you got close, you'd just roll off.. there were a lot of really annoying things... the room was generally pretty unkept and sad looking. We were shifted to another room. 10 years ago I absolutely loved staying there. While the staff were helpful in trying to remediate the situation, but the hotel really needs some TLC and renovation.

Lack of bay views

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: gym on the top floor
Cons: better room furnishings
Location: good location
unimpressive rooms, smell in the hallways, gym is somewhat small, breakfast was very bland and uninviting, coffee was filtered and terrible, room décor needs changing. Hotel should have been built with a wider front towards the bay. car park is incredibly confusing and very tight

Good location and economical car park

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: Location, low cost car park.
Cons: Needs refurbishment
Location: Close to CBD
Hotel is a bit old and in need of refurbishment. Bed was clean and comfortable. Overall okay if you stay in hotel is just a place to sleep at night.

Mittelmässiges Hotel direkt am Albert Park

Posted Jan 7, 2015

Great for a night out in the city

Posted Dec 20, 2014
What a great location, so easy to find when you don't know the city very well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Stayed in a queen room. Bathroom was gorgeous and packed with light! The bed was nice and comfy, there was also heaps of wardrobe space. Probably not the best place to stay if you're going to be in the room much, as they're pretty basic. But they're very clean and well maintained. The linen was so nice to sleep on. Plus, we loved the midday checkout! :) Perfect when you don't want to drive home from they city.

Nice hotel close to public transport

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: The location was not in the busiest part of Melbourne yet very close to public transport.
Cons: Better organisation on communicating the booking details between reception and other parts of the hotel.
Location: It is very easy to take the tram to the city or to the beach.
Having booked through expedia, our included breakfast was not noted and we had to argue the point 2 out of 3 days we stayed. The hallway going to our room seemed like if it was recently flooded. Our room however was very tidy and nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
