“Cheap but not cheerful”
After a 10.5 hour drive from Sydney (the last hour in a nasty storm), all my partner and I wanted to do was relax in our room before heading out for dinner. Our 5th floor room key did not work, and after two elevator trips to the concierge, we still had no success. Both times the female employee didn't even apologise for the inconvenience. On the third trip back to concierge, a male employee accompanied me to our room, and third time lucky, we were able to get in. The room was tidy and clean but one of the bedside table lamps did not work, and a wire was sticking out from a hole in the ceiling where a halogen lamp should have been. As a result, there was not enough light in the room when we needed it. The shower could do with a shelf for toiletries, as only a soap holder is available. One would have thought that drinking glasses for water would be standard in any hotel, but not in this one. One of the two elevators was out of order for the 48 hours we stayed, and the hotel is located in the "blah" end of town. The seats in the lobby are impossible to sit in as they have no back support - I guess they don't want guests loitering there too long. My partner and I would not stay there again, even if someone else was paying.
“A good hotel for travel or business, good location”
For the price we got it was the perfect hotel, easy location from airport and close to train and business center. will go again
“Great choice!”
Convenient location with free city circle tram stop outside hotel. When I made my reservation, I requested a room with a view because it was my 1st visit. They gave me a Docklands/harbor view on the 14th floor! Hotel staff was nice & the room was large and clean. Would stay again if we return!
“Nice hotel, great location”
Great value for the area. It is right across the street from the Southern Cross Station where the airport shuttle drops you so it is very convenient. It is convenient to many attractions and restaurants. Hotel is clean and nice. Not the most luxurious hotel ever but very comfortable, great location, nice, and clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Great Hotel Tourist Hotel”
This was a good hotel for a short weekend trip, not a luxury but very comfortable, clean and easy access to places, if you are willing to walk a little extra.
“Bad service...”
he location and the room where good. But the service was atrocious. Elevators do not work properly, you have to wait hours all the time. We got stuck inside the elevator for one hour and we are still waiting for some kind of apology. Finally, at my insistence I got the breakfast for free. But the staff should have been more forthcoming. I would not blame the staff necessarily. The real problem is management, they do not seem to be given a dime about service or guests....
“Will go back next time”
There can be more facilities in the bathroom. There was no line to hang the clothes washed and no room to put personal belongings. Something can be done to give more room, e.g. the towels can be put on a rack erected on top of the water closet/bench top. No slippers were provided and the carpet in the room was rather dirty. During our stay there (8 nights), it seemed that no vaccum cleaning had been done. On one occasion, the cleaners had even forgotten to tidy the room. That said, the condition of the room and the hotel were generally satisfactory.
“central, clean and new hotel”
the best deal, just the breakfast could be better.
“Do not purchase the Internet package”
The hotel and stay were good. However, the Internet was very expensive and beyond email it was useless. Even with email it was like an old dial-up and took several minutes to load up. I tried for the three days I was there and never was able to use the Internet. They suggested I use their business centre but I needed to Skype for a very important business deal to China and was not able to. My advice - do not use the Internet package it is a total rip-off. It was not my computer as I went to my son's in downtown Melbourne and it worked quickly.
“i would pick a different hotel next time”
i would try to pick a differnt hotel maid sevice never changed my sheets on my 9 day stay and 1 day never made the bed had a sack of garbage in my room on the 1st day still there when i checked out thier breakfast was scrambled eggs that was not cooked all the way laundry service waste of money at$15.00 a load came back still wet took till next morning to dry out.
