“We loved St Kilda's”
Melbourne is a beautiful city and we loved the Trams, and that subourb of St Kilda is a very nice place to stay and rest and is just 15 mins by tram to CBD. There ae wonderful place to tale a beer, a sprankling and dinning too.
“Not bad but......”
Make sure you beg for a room away from the street. We asked for one after reading reviews. But we did not get one. Instead, we got one on the street on the second floor right across from the Base nightclub and they partied loud on the street until 2:30-3 AM every night. The room itself was nice- spacious and well appointed. They do charge a fee for in-room internet and it was not even wireless. Wireless is free in the lobby. The area itself is nice with nice eats just a quick walk away.
“Right near Luna Park, but plain and utilitarian”
This hotel has a great location; the staff is pleasant and the rooms are good sized...however, it is a hotel without a lot of character (grey rug with some stains on it, white walls, white sheets, grey curtains) and even though it says it is no-smoking, I could smell a lot of cigarette smoke in the room through the vents. There were several large tour groups there as well. The fridge and hot pot were a nice addition and there are tons of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Overall, not a bad choice.
“Australia's one-of-the-best hotels”
The hotel is just perfect, the staff is very friendly, the room is clean, the shampoo, soap and conditioner have spa quality, the sheets are gorgeous. The front desk guy (maybe his name was Tim, sorry I do not remember precisely) was the most helpful concierge-front desk person I ever met. If I ever had a hotel I would hire him! I was delighted with my stay there. Breakfast was good, maybe they could speed up the refilling of trays.
“Great except for our broken refrigerator”
The Cosmopolitan is in a fun neighborhood. We were happy with everything with the exception of the mini fridge in our room that didn't work. After maintenence fixed it, by the next day it wasn't working again!
“Not bad for the price.”
Free parking. Room was ok for the price. Can be a little noisy at times but otherwise its a good place to stay. Its in the backpackers part of melbourne and pretty good night life.
“Water on the floor and a car alarm!”
The Cosomopolitan was nice. The rom was design was very contemporary as well as the bathroom. My only dislike was that the glass shower door was defective to wit it would allow water from the shower to run onto the bathroom floor during showers. When this was reported to staff, I was told that there is nothing they can do because they had to order the part. (why not move me to another room) Last thing was a guests car alarm would go off every 5-10 mins at 4 am breaking my sleep for nights straight. When I complained about it again I was told there is nothing they can do. I wasn't satisfied because of those two instances
“Good location, great value, friendly staff”
Right across from a tram stop, and very close to the beach and other St. Kilda attractions. Rooms are small, but that's OK by me for the price. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
“Very friendly staff”
It has been a great time staying in Cosmopolitan hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The staff at the counter are very approachable when we ask them for direction. We has some problems with our air-con on the first day, and called the frontdesk for help. As they have some problems contacting the technicans, the frontdesk staff came up herself (sorry, forgotten her name) and help us with it. She also promised to check on our aircon while we are away to make sure its functioning well. Would like to stay in the same hotel if we are going back again.
