Comfortable room in centre of cityPosted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, price and room comfort
Cons: However the jug didn't work and the position of power points and lack of extension leads made these difficult to utilise.
Location: This hotel is conveniently situated right in the middle of downtown Melbourne, near shops, open space, restaurants and entertainment.
Whilst this hotel had few out-of-room frills, the room itself was surprisingly comfortable. It was clean with lots of hot water and a comfortable bed. It featured a microwave, jug for tea/ coffee, air conditioning, bread/ butter/ jam & toaster for complimentary light breakfast, iron & ironing table.

Comfortable, well priced hotel.Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet, good service
Location: In close proximity to everything in the city centre
Not being familiar with Melbourne and its one way streets we found it hard to locate. Eventually parking the car and walking to find its location. Signage is too small but once we found the doorway we could not fault the service. The desk clerk gave us exact directions and instructions as to where to park and find our way back. The hotel rooms looked like they had been renovated and were really comfortable and well appointed. We ate at the pub on the corner which was also in close walking distance to the hotel and had a tasty breakfast at a cafe close to the Visitors Centre and again close and handy to the carpark. I would certainly recommend Econo Lodge and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Conveniently LocatedPosted Jan 27, 2014
Pros: Central location and proximity to shops, restaurants and public transport.
Cons: Toilet rolls instead of toilet paper squares (very stingy)
Location: Trams right outside with Flinders Street train station a mere 2 blocks away. Closest restaurants and shops also within 2 blocks.
Adequate facilities for the price. Great location. Comfortable room.

Terrible hotel worst experience everPosted Dec 28, 2013
The man at reception was truly rude. Having worked in hotels myself for years his attitude was horrendous. His knowledge of the information provided on websites to guests was poor. Do not stay here pay the extra to have a real experience!!!

Shopping weekendPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in the perfect location for tourists and those looking to spend a weekend shopping in Melbourne. Rooms are very basic but clean. The foyers have an old smell as do the old lifts. It's nothing special but staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is the best quality.
