Cons: The parking facilities were minimal.

IsolatedPosted Oct 8, 2013
Cons: Hotel staff not very helpful as there were not enough staff on to handle the large number of guests checking out all at 9.30am.
I chose this hotel because it was near Rod Laver Arena where I went to Ricky Martin concert that evening. I did not anticipate not having any good coffee available and no breakfast facilities. I also didn't like the stairs I had to climb and carry my luggage up some very steep stairs just to get to reception. Access to the Hotel is on a very busy corner and very dangerous to cross the road and also to turn right into the hotel drop off area. There were cars parked in the drop off area, parking is a nightmare even to just drop off and pick up with no standing areas right outside the hotel

Good Morning, Thank you for taking the time to post a review for Mantra on Jolimont, I do appreciate your feedback. I will review staffing for that day, but generally we do expect some delays between around 9.30 and 10am of a morning (as checkout is at 10am this is generally when everyone trys to delay leaving until). Reception is open 24 hours so the staff are always available if you would prefer to checkout prior to this time. As you can appreciate, a vast majority of our guests that evening would have been attending the same concert at the same time, and while our driveway is generally adequate for its purpose, occasionally it can become a bit constrained. I am also sorry that you were unable to utilise our Restaurant facilities to their full extent. For future guests reference, our onsite restaurant is located on the ground floor of the building as you enter through the main doors, and would have been open for dinner on the Saturday night you stayed, and for breakfast from 8am til 11am the following morning, perhaps you may have missed it? There is also access to two lifts on the ground floor which services all guest floors along with the reception floor, for future reference please simply follow the signs from the staircase. I do look forward to having the opportunity to look after you again, please feel free to contact me directly at the Hotel if you require any future bookings. Warm regards, Campbell Lee Hotel Manager

Ideal location for rod laver arena.Posted Sep 11, 2013
Cons: Major cleaning and re furnishing. All furniture was scratched or stained. Walls needed painting. Pamphlet says "in room wi fi free" this was not case
Location: Rod laver arena, MCG
My problem with this hotel is the cleanliness. The carpets and furniture were dirty. They needed a good vacuum and wash. The kitchen was very outdated and the range hood on top of the stove was dirty and greasy. A thorough cleaning is needed. The walls are in need of a paint job as too much scuff marks and dirt can be seen on the walls. Too much dust is covering the air conditioning vents. What do the cleaning staff do all day? Also they advertise that wifi is free in room yet it is not. They also said in house movies free yet they are not.

Our Stay at the MantraPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: I was a great change from an experience at a Sydney hotel 6 weeks ago
Cons: No really as the hotel is in the process of upgrade so that will be lovely.
Location: As we are Melbourne people it was funny being tourists in our own city. Trip on a tram, walking to the MCG and looking around Melbourne.
We stayed at the Mantra as it was very close to the MCG and will do so again in the future. Our stay was both enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you to all the staff they were lovely.

Good Location and hotelPosted Jul 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great stay overall, the room was nice, clean and had all the essentials. The hotel itself had great and helpful staff, the pool was nice and overall a good hotel for the price. The only two things holding it back is - the noise from the train passing very close to the windows that woke me up at night (recommend ear plugs) and the room had a very damp smell when we walked in after every day. Strongly recommend not staying in room 405, which is facing the rail tracks.

Close to Rod Laver ArenaPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Close to Rod Laver Arena
Cons: Variety at breakfast time. Room service AFTER 9:30pm. More garage parking space.
Location: Close to the Rod Laver Arena. Not too far from town. Was a nice walk.
Hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. There was not enough parking space so we had to park at another hotels parking garage. Breakfast was VERY disappointing. No variety - VERY basic! Also there was no room service after 9:30pm. Only real benefit was that it was close to the Rod Laver Arena - The main reason for booking this hotel.
