Handy, Spacious, Clean and a Great View
Posted Jan 30, 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at the Melbourne Short Stay Apartments. The location was great to town and we were able to walk most places. There apartment was very clean and in good condition. It was spacious with a great view as well as being nice and quiet at night. With free delivery from the italian across the road and a convenience store on the corner we had all the supplies we needed. It's ten minutes walk into the heart of the city across one of the three handy bridges over the river.

I should have checked whether you had Foxtel before booking in for 10 days. No Foxtel meant no live sport or racing so would not book with you again. Otherwise rooms was comfortable. A problem was the the shower arm. Anything other than vertical meant it just collapsed downward with no warning. Twice it dropped without warning and the nozzle slipped out bouncing on the bath and belting me in the shin. Consequently had to keep the arm at vertical meaning it flooded the bathroom floor after each shower.

the apartment was nice done out. convenience was great to cbd, harbour town, convention centre, dfo, casino, shopping in general also not far from st kilda. the only problem i feel about the apartment was there was only 1 central airconditioning unit in the apartment and no fans. the bedrooms werent airconed and also no fans, made sleeping not very comfortable at all in a week of above 32 degrees, and when travelling with friends you cant leave your bedroom doors open at night, so we thought that was not good .. you need at least fans in the bedrooms.

Pros: Great value
Cons: the distance from CBD
Location: Too far to CBD not an easy walk or by yourself at night
The apartment was great, the concierge was great and helpful, great value however I did find it a bit too far away from the CBD

Don't trust in the web page
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Do not trust in the hotel web page, the quality of the unit did not honor what pics from web page shows, the blinders were a crap, no tv on the bedroom, the furniture to old fashion, the dryer does not work properly, they put a JVC speakers in a Kenwood audio system. Definetively never back again to this place.

Pros: Spacious and view
Cons: Shower rose was loose and was a shower over bath.
Location: About 3 blocks from Southbank, or 2 blocks to Crown Casino
The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were firm which I found good but my wife said were too hard. The staff were very helpful and we had a couple of lights fail while we where there. The repair staff came immediately when we reported the faults and fixed them. The only negative point was the tram was a little walk. Most mornings we walked over to Degreaves lane for breakfast. The room was on 21st floor and had a view to the Bay and we could see cargo ships coming and going. There was another apartment block being built next door and that will impede that view. The room is only serviced weekly but there were plenty of towels etc.
