“Not Bad, very convenient”
We had been out drinking that night and had a very late check in, about 3am, the hotel gave us a late check out which we where thankful for. Everything was great except that we booked a queen room and when we checked in, there was no queen rooms available. They upgraded us to a King, or 2 singles pushed together, in the disabled room. That room looked a bit run down, a little bit of mold in the shower room and in serious need of an upgrade. But for the time and price it was something that we could see past.
“Masupland's View of Mercure Welcome”
The bldg is old with narrow hallways and beat-up carpet. The rooms didn't have the comfort but for the price is was fine/ok. Only two terminals for internet access and boarding passes wouldn't print.
“Not impressed”
The location is the best of this hotel, but my room was terrible. The carpet was so dirty and the equipment (refrigerator and TV) was too old and both did a terrible noise all the time.
“Not Impressed”
We were very disappointed with the standard of this Hotel , rooms were very poor , clean but unappealing , fridge noisy and we were placed in front of lift doors, redeemed only by its location to the city and its sights, not the safest of area's, Staff were friendly , we would not return.
“Tiny room but top location”
The city was at our doorstep which was fantastic. The room was very small and uninviting and the fridge and air-con loud. If your only in need of a quick stay and are budget conscience this might be the place for you. We are thankful that we didn't waste our time in Melbourne in our hotel room. Exploring the city was our main agenda and we only went to our room to sleep.
“Not so Grand But Next Door”
The Mercure Hotel Welcome shares a lobby with its larger neighbor, the Swanston Grand Mercure, which may throw visitors off at first. My stay at the Hotel Welcome was okay. When I arrived, the battery on the remote control for the television needed to be replaced. The day before I left, housekeeping forgot to make the bed and leave me clean towels. Nonetheless, the room was comfortable. I appreciated the comfortable chair that was also in the room.
“Re: Mercure Hotel”
Overall the hotel is of the best location and within the most convenient amongst the list provided by Expedia. The only weakness I realised will be the morning breakfast which was the same day in and out. Well I only taken 2 times for the food while my 3rd day onwards solely on the drinks and breads. Pls be reminded the hotel will bound to hanlde all levels and nationalities, I do hope the hotel will improve its choices in future.
“Very old, not clean, unreasonably expensive internet charge”
It was too crowded, too many rooms, very little space, not clean.. Guess how much they charge for internet? 55 cents per miniute!! And I was told it's 15 cents at first. When we checked out, it became 55! We were online for less than 15 minutes and were charged almost 50 dolloars! just can't believe it.. not sure how they calculated.
“OK”
Room was rather small, otherwise fine
“Mercure Hotel Welcome”
