One night stay

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Close to everything. Helpful staff.
Cons: The TV's were small and the one in the bedroom had bad reception. Nothing really, though.
Location: Close to Luna Park and main cafe strip.
Friendly, helpful, professional staff even though they were very busy at check in and we had to wait half an hour. Our room was overbooked so we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite (for a family of two parents and two children, 9 and 12!) The kids loved spending time in the jacuzzi. The room was clean and modern and overlooked St Kilda beach. We would definitely stay here again. We only stayed overnight - we were in town for a sports competition.

terrific hotel with wonderful views

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: The hotel has a great atmosphere, warm and welcoming with extremely helpful staff. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bay view amazing.
Cons: I was happy with everything at the Novotel St Kilda
Location: Hotel is close to the beach, lots of good restaurants and shops nearby and tram stop a couple of minutes from the hotel.
The Novotel St Kilda is located close to the beach and a short distance from the CBD in Melbourne. I was offered an upgrade to a room with a bay view and the view of the bay was spectacular. The hotel is a short walk from the Acland Street St Kilda which has lots of terrific restaurants and shops with a wonderful cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Not impressed

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: It was in a great location
Cons: Food and prices
Location: Beach was nice and food strip was awesome. Don't bother with the cake shops they look better than they taste.
We stayed above their bar and there was loud music and drunk people till early hours of the morning. There was broken glass and empty bottles out the front of the hotel that was never cleaned. The Food was overpriced and not very good. And they had a mini bar that was very over priced for example $7.50 for a litre of water. The cleaning staff left our door open twice after they cleaned.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. Please accept our apologies that the external part of the Bar area was too noisy. We will ensure in future that this area is closed to patrons by 10pm. Yours Sincerely Llewellyn Wyeth

Mixed feelings about the hotel

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: Location (Tram to centre is just outside the hotel and great cafe/bars/restaurants close by), view (bay view) and clean rooms.
Cons: Change or teach staff to listen to guests, make gym larger, open the pool, give free internet access in the lobby at least.
Location: Best breakfast places: Sister of Soul, Cafe 95 Espresso Bar and Galleon Cafe. Best restaurants: Claypots seafood
Basicallly the only thing that keeps this hotel going is its location. If a hotel opens up in the building next door my guess is that these guys will suffer badly. Pros: Location, view (bay view) and clean rooms. Cons: Inattentive staff, small gym (if possible, even smaller than the rooms), Cheap attitude through out the hotel (only 30 min free internet access in the lobby unless you require a lot of data which might take it down to 5 min, you have to specially request vanity kit to get it and they make you feel like a thief for asking about it). Never mind paying for the hotel breakfast: the following cafe's close by are cheaper, nicer and GREAT quality - all 5 min walk away: Sister of Soul, Cafe 95 Espresso Bar and Galleon Cafe.
