“great position”

We had a great stay and could not believe the great position for what we wantede to do while in Melbourne, would highly recommend this place to everyone.

“Fantastic (clean) budget accommodation”

Fantastic budget accommodation. My "Petite Double" room was exactly that. A small room with a double bed. I knew this when booking the room and it was actually a little bigger than I'd expected. The main appeal of this hotel is the cleanliness and location. I was in Melbourne for a few days of a conference and only went to the hotel to sleep, which made this place perfect. If you're planning on spending lots of time at your accommodation or want to enjoy dining at your hotel, you should pay extra for a 4-star Hotel. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, but clean and pleasant to sleep at night, then this is the place for you. The ensuite was small, but serviceable and the TV on the wall could swivel to face the bed, which was nice. I'd definitely book this place again as a slightly smaller and cheaper alternative to the Vibe hotels, which are also worth a visit.

“'Great Location'”

The Pensione is in an excellent location to explore all Melbourne has to offer. Our 'Petite Double' room was very small (as you'd expect from its description) but was comfortable, very quiet and clean and had all we needed. With the deal we accessed through Expedia, the rate was good value. We did find the room a little warm/stuffy at times - didn't use the air-con/heating - but nothing drastic. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful in handling any of our queries. The Hotel has an arrangement with nearby secure undercover parking at a reasonable daily rate which meant we didn't have to worry about our car. (you do need to request this at booking time as they only have a limited number of spaces allocated.) Trams are very close by and if you purchase an allday pass from the 7/11 store on the corner of Spencer and Flinders St, you get great value using trams,trains and buses for the day. The 7/11 also has good takeaway coffee and their other items aren't priced over the top if you need supplies. 'Bertha Brown' restaurant and bar round the corner in Flinder's Street was a great find - wonderful atmosphere, good, reasonably priced food and drinks, lovely staff with great senses of humour and you can walk there from the hotel in just a few minutes!!!

location - location - location - says it all - so convenient to southern cross rail station and the free tram - basic amenities - all you need - and especially the luggage storage.

“Good hotel in central location”

Staff at this hotel are young and friendly, its been recently renovated and is very centrally located - just down the street from the sky bus. My only criticism would be that the bathroom was pretty small and not a very user friendly layout. The rest of the room was great and the bed comfy - also suprisingly quiet for its city location. I'd definitely stay here again, its a great simple hotel if you're just looking for place to sleep in between shopping and eating.

“Good location and very helpful staff!”

Our room was lovely (the bathroom iwas pretty small...but functional!), the location is great...the tram stop just outside which is convinient but it is so centrally located that you can walk pretty much everywhere! The breakfast was not included with our room but we had breakfast there our last day and it was lovely (but expensive...as everywhere else in Melbourne!). The best thing at this hotel are the staff....really helpful and friendlym, you felt like coming home at the end of the day... I would happily stay there again!

“Impressed. Boutique hotel worth the price.”

This is our first time to Melbourne and we're expecting everything to be fine. Surprisingly Pensione Hotel is very near to Southern Cross station and Tram stops and convenient stores, thus it makes our journey convenient and safe. Talk about the rooms, the rooms are comfortable, with TV, lovely toiletries and clean. We enjoyed our stay for 4 days. Although the bathrooms are a bit small but it is acceptable. The receptionist are friendly to assist us in anything we need. Most importantly they can store our luggage free of charge as we will stay in Pensione again after our trip in Sydney.

“Great location and price!!!”

5 min walk to Etihad Stadium, the DFO for shopping, the Casino, transport right at the door and a 7 eleven next door and around the corner! We had a twin room and only had carry on luggage so it suited our needs however the rooms are a bit small and suitcases would have posed a problem. Other than that we were very happy and will definately stay there again in the near future. Fantastic for short stays!

Excellent cool courteous staff. Booking made months before from UK, upgraded us to larger room without asking. Nice breakies 15 dollar continental good variety of cereal, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses plus nice breads. Quality TV, reasonable charge for wifi, free paper, mini breakfast special plus evening happy hour wine. We walked from airport bus put down at central station. Trams outside to CBd or walk about 10 mins to flinders station and museums.
