Out of Town Accommodation

Pros: Comfortable bed. Reasonable rates
Location: Good location for out of the city. Close to Church St shops and dining. Close to bay walk and swimming.
Very handy to great shops and dining. Great walking track nearby and swimming in bay. Bit too far from South Bank and city. Neat and tidy. Room was smallish but bed very comfortable. Parking was easy. Staff very good. Did not dine on location.

Great beach location

Pros: Location
Cons: Provide a room without a flight of stairs to a couple who request a baby cot. Common sense that they will have a pram.
Location: Brighton baths and cafe across the road.
We chose the hotel due to the location as we had a wedding across the road. With our reservation we requested a baby cot for our newborn. The morning of our stay we rang to confirm that we will have a cot and were told that our room is too small to accommodate the cot. We explained that we requested the cot at time of the booking. The guy on the phone agreed to provide us with the cot after he checked our reservation request. We were given a room on the 1st floor that required us to climb a flight of stairs. The gap between the door and the staircase was so small that we had to carry our baby upstairs and dismantle the pram on the outside of the room as it wouldn't fit between the door and the stairs. It was very inconvenient. Upon returning from the wedding at midnight we couldn't get into the hotel because the reception was closed and the after hours key reader wasn't working so we had to call the hotel manager. It took 3 phone calls for her to answer. By the time she arrived to open the door my husband had walked into the hotel from the carpark to open the front door.

Convenient overnight stay.

Pros: Friendly, relaxed staff, clean comfortable room, small kitchenette. Wonderful buffet breakfast.
Cons: No mini bar in fridge.
Location: Didn't have time to explore, but there are many pamphlets available to give one ideas.
We were attending a wedding nearby and needed a place to stay overnight as we live in the country.

Lovely location by the beach. The staff were extremely helpful upgrading our room as I was unable to manage the stairs leading up to the room originally booked for us. Nice on site café too.

It was very comfortable and clean which are high on my list of importance I would stay there again if need be. The only we had was that we were unable to get in to the front doors of hotel after hours with our swipe card and had to enter from the garage doors

Pros: Cleanliness!
Cons: Breakfast should be a full buffet breakfast!
Location: Beach, shops, restaurants, hotels, lovely homes, parks. Nice walks!
Happy with ground floor room and nice spacious very neat clean room with comfortable plus bed. Had problems with breakfast in dining room and needed to ask waiter where to find full cream milk which had not been supplied and the breakfast was somewhat limited in choices. My eggs benedict order had to be changed as no ham was available and this was replaced with smoked salmon. When I received this order the meal was stone cold and I wanted a hot breakfast! I asked the chef to reheat the meal and he did do so, somewhat reluctantly mind you, but I was satisfied with the result and told him so! $100.00 was taken from my MasterCard for incidentals on arrival. On checkout we used my wife's card to pay for breakfast as we had pre paid the accommodation. Three days on and the $100.00 is not back in my Bank as yet!

We have stayed at this hotel three times, the last time two years ago. What has gone wrong! The lobby/reception area was tired and grubby, the executive room dirty and the toilet filthy. Checked out within an hour of arriving. This property charges top rates but needs a serious makeover. The cleanliness of the room and poor condition of the furniture and fittings reflects badly on the management who should ensure much better standards for what purports to be a 4/5 star property
