“Best location and price!”

This hotel was centrally located: right smack dab in the middle of the riverwalk, Federation Square and shopping. The hotel has a classic feel yet is split into two sections: the old and the newer trendy side. I prefer the trendy side rather than the classy brocade/velvet side. You'll know what I mean when you see the rooms. Hotel staff was extremely helpful with directions and planning side trips throughout Melbourne and its suburbs. Hotel is also located near all restaurants both expensive and fast food. Definitely recommend especially for price and the location.

“It's the people who make the place happen”

This was my first visit to Melbourne. I liked the fact that the hotel was right in the city. I walked everywhere...which really worked out well for me. Especially since parking was expensive and the driving on the left side of the road would only have stressed me out. Plus having to deal with the trams would only have made me hate the place. The hotel is on a very busy street, so for other travellers just beware dealing with traffic anywhere is never a joy. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and helpful and this to me, made the place a "Happening Place". I loved their version of the city map ...pocket size..I really enjoyed my stay there.

“Fantastic Location!”

The Rendezvous is a great hotel. Staff are very nice (as is everyone in Australia) and the rooms are just fine. Free wi-fi in the lobby - which is very comfy. The location can't be beat! You're steps away from Flinders Street Station and all trains and buses. Public transpo is super easy, especially with the free City Circle Tram and free hop on/off tourist bus offered. Melbourne is also very easily walkable. I'd definitely stay here again!

“Right in the Heart of Action”

Hotel check-in and check-out was speedy and the staff was very helpful with our needs. The hotel is close to transport lines (rail, bus & metro lines) and the free city tram is a block away to get an overview of the area. There are fantastic eateries from expensive to cheap take away places.

“Wonderful Hotel”

We were in Melbourne to attend the Australian Open tennis matches. We stayed at the Rendevous Hotel in Melbourne and it was wonderful! The hotel itself was well maintained and the staff very friendly. Our suite was really quite beautiful and very spacious. The location of the hotel could not have been better. The Rendevous is located directly on Flinders street giving us easy access to the tram which took us to Melbourne Park. The Rendevous is also within easy walking distance of restaurants and shopping. This was our first trip to the Open and we plan to go back and we must stay at the Rendevous.

“Perfect Business Hotel”

The hotel was clean and well-appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for getting around Melbourne - right in the center of the downtown district, and close to stops for the City Circle Tram and the Tourist Shuttle Bus. Restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Food at the hotel was a bit pricey, but excellent.

“One of our favorite hotels!”

This is truly a lovely historic hotel. We have stayed several times and would always stay again. Great location, walk to " everything " or catch tram or train ! Ask for a historic room...soaring ceilings, and stained glass! The staff shows more polish than the guests...couldn't be more accomodating and professional. Love it !

“A good choice in Melbourne”

My only complaint about Hotel Rendez Vous is that they take in large groups so that when I arrived I had to wait until a group cleared out to check-in. Otherwise, my room was well appointed, clean, perfectly good. The hotel is well located in the downtown area near the river, both major museums are in walking distance. The particular block that the hotel is on looks a little iffy to my NYC eyes but it was fine, there are other hotels that are on slightly nicer looking streets.

“excellent location”

We were very satisfied but there were a few minor hassles. Communication about what package we booked was lacking as was internal communication within the hotel about this. They have a so called "Happy hour" but charge top shelf prices for everything except a very few selected drinks. It is very conveniently located to the city centre, Fed Square, Casino and restaurants and within a (long but leasurely) walk to the footy at Docklands stadium. Retrieving the car from valet parking is a more difficult process than it should be. All in all though a very good quality hotel and high quality breakfast but beware when booking on Expedia as it more often than not quotes in US dollars which means a much higher Aus dollar price if you don't realise this before accepting the booking.

It had all the essentials of a good economical stay in town.
