Not a good night in the kitchenPosted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Their willingness to accept that things had gone wrong and went to some lengths to make good.
Cons: See above
Location: Great location, especailly if in transit by rail
Being a traveller from country victoria ,its proximity to Flinder's St station is very convenient.Reception staff very pleasant and helpful.Room comfortable but it took a bit of getting use to the movement sensors for turning lights on and off. However dinner was an interesting experience.Maitre D and staff very efficient and friendly.Pre dinner G&T was spot on!The meal itself was diasappointing. The ingredients wre good but both the entree and the main course wre cold.Entree was delivered promptly which was good but main cousr appeared almost an hour later and was cold.AND TWO TINY LAMB CUTLETS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RACK OF LAMB,especially being charged $34 for the dish.Apologies from the Maitre D were proffered and a courtesy glass of very good red was also and accepted. On settling the bill the bar bill was deleted as a gesture of goodwill, and was also accepted. The Maitre D was most apologetic I accept that things can go awry. The hotel did make an effort to make good so praise to them for that.

Tiny rooms, bad customer servicePosted Nov 12, 2014
I called before I came requesting for 2 single beds as it was a superior room which is either a king bed or two singles, and they tell me thats not what has been booked and I needed to show them my booking via Expedia when I get there. I was transferred to two different people on the phone. Both people were not very friendly. When I get there the front desk girl was very rude, didn't smile or say she'll take care of us and fix the mistake just tired to make it seem like it was my fault. They said they'll upgrade me apparently but the room I booked was a superior with southbank view. The upgrade was a tiny room with two single beds and NO view. Overall I'd say it was so pathetic for what I paid. I've paid less for rooms like that and actually got more. At least treat your customer well if u make a mistake. Will not go back here again. You'd think rendezvous is a top notch place but not the one in melbourne!! Don't waste your money!

Great location, central to everything I neededPosted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: THe location
Location: The lane ways are close by, the grafetti street art which was one of the main things I was looking for is just around the corner
We had a great weekend in melbourne, the room could have been a little bigger however we weren't there for the room, we were there to explore melbourne. Overall great hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Really helpful staff beautiful hotel the only thing I didn't like is the room size they are extremely small and the view from the windows is a brick wall and a car park

nice hotel in central LondonPosted Oct 21, 2014
Location: The location is the best thing about this hotel being opposite Flinders St station.
We stayed for two nights in a small room which was clean. On the first night. we had a lukewarm shower. As we had arrived late we thought maybe it had to do with hot water run out but got up in the morning to another lukewarm shower....very uncomfortable. Reception sent up someone to fix and eventually we got hot water. We organised our shuttle to the airport with the concierge the day before departure and stood at the bus stop a block away waiting for an hour for a bus we were not booked on by the hotel staff. Eventually we caught our own cab to the airport to make our flight in time.
