“Not impressed”

My room had no windows. Actually, it did, but the view was the hotel's cafeteria. So I could hear the cafeteria's workers move around and clash the dishes while cleaning up even until 1 AM in the morning. The bed was quite cozy, but because of the unexpected and very unfortunate background music, I won't be staying here again.

“Value for Money”

Excellent location. Very good service. Concierge was extra nice. Overall very good. Will stay here again if we are in Melbourne again.

Area recommendations
Radison Inn near Victoria Market. If you are travelling with car then they have free parking and you are well connected to the City by tram which is just outside the Hotel.

“happy to recommend the hotel to anybody.”

We are satisfied with the hotel.It is located in a place where there is always good acces to transportation. and it is almost like in the middle of everythingelse.

Area recommendations
I just want to recommend Savoy Hotel at this time. We did not look for anyother.
When to go
go during summer. It was a little breezy and cooler at the time we were there.Around Jan.19-23
Getting there
easy to get there .we used PAL airline but beware of this airline!!!It is always delayed of 2 hours at least..It is cheaper though.
Getting around
Melbourne has free bus line that travels from I think 1000am till 6pm and on Saturdays till 9pm.If you like to walk you can walk around the area.
Must see
we took the tour of the 12 Apostles. It was a long trip but worth it. The sceneries are lovely.

“Not Too Bad”

Its location across from Southern Cross train station is convenient, but it's not the best area of town. The hotel is clean and well decorated. The ceilings were a little low. The service was very helpful. Five stars there. I can also highly recommend the breakfast buffet. it's a great breakfast and for only $15. We would probably stay in a different area of town if we go back. The south bank is little more upscale.

The south bank was upscale and had a lot of nice restaurants. I can't comment on many of the other area because we didn't venture into too many different neighborhoods.

“It was OK”

The hotel was alright and I wouldn't necessarily discourage anyone from staying here. The location was good and Melbourne is a very nice city with a lot of very friendly people. By general American standards though, the general staff was ok - they did their job, but weren't necessarily customer friendly, sometimes seemed a little confused, and couldn't seem to really recommend much of anything (like restaurants, things to see). Unlike in the USA generally, be prepared to pay for using your credit card to pay the bill - I think it was 2% of the total. Not a lot of money, but still a surprise to an American. The bed, and I found this throughout Australia, is much, much more firm than what you'll find in the USA. I could hear through the walls pretty easily and the finishes in the room - blanket, bed spread, etc., just felt a little worn. It was alright though and certainly was a less expensive option - I guess you generally get what you pay for. I would recommend it, but would want people to realize that it's not the Ritz, it's the Vibe :-)

Area recommendations
The Chapel Street neighborhood felt really cool, interesting, fun, and would have liked to spent more time there. Melbourne is a really nice city; clean, and fun. The street car that encircles downtown is very nice and convenient. The Yarra riverfront area very nice. Shopping if that's your thing is great in Australia (I was in Melbourne and Sydney). The people - Aussie's are the BEST! Vastly very nice, fun, courteous, friendly. People really helped make this trip for me and my traveling partner. No problem (USA) = No worries (Australia).

“Excellent Value .... room was a little small but great bed and pillows.”

Comfortable, quiet and quaint small hotel. Rooms were a bit tight but bed, pillows and covers gave us a great night sleep. Location is bit aaway from the City activity, but we enjoyed the stroll. Close to convenience stores and transportation. Prior reviews helped me select it and did a good job of describing the expereince. My wife and I were surprised and delighted with our stay. Would recommend the Vibe Savoy without hesitation.

“Would definitely stay here again.”

Hotel location was excellent.We felt very safe walking to any destination at any time day or night. Staff was very helpful and the condition of the hotel was great. The buffet breakfast ( not included in price) was outstanding.

“great value!”

Terrific hotel - clean, modern, stylish, comfortable - in a great location for city sightseeing and right across the road from the Airport shuttle departure point. Very friendly staff too!

The European for breakfast! The whole city is gorgeous and very walkable.
