Nice hotel. close to Beale Street

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Close to places of interest, good central base for trips and excursions.
Cons: Some areas of the hotel could do with updating.
Location: Location was central to most points of interest. You could get excursions to Graceland, Sun Studios, and Mojo tours with Backbeat Tours (recommended)
We stayed there for 3 nights. Close to Beale Street and other places of interest. Hotel staff very friendly and polite.

Great Time In Memphis

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly and polite. Loved the breakfast included with the room.
Cons: Free parking for hotel guests would be a nice touch.
Location: The location to downtown and other venues was perfect. Beale Street was within walking distance.
Finding the hotel was easy an stress free. We visited Graceland, The Civil Rights Museum and spent some time on Beale Street. Everything we did was fantastic. The Civil Rights Museum and the history of the Lorraine Hotel was our favorite. I felt very safe in Memphis and enjoyed myself immensely.

Comfort Inn

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: location, good parking
Location: 15/20 minute walk to Beale Street, short drive to Gracelands and other attractions. Would be even better if the trolleys are working
Good hotel, good location, walking distance to Beale St, Mud Island and other attractions. Reasonable selection for breakfast.Close to the trolley stop, however they weren't running during our stay. Also it is close to train lines and every morning at 6 o'clock during our stay, a train went by blasting its horn, not the hotels fault but worth noting. We had a pleasant stay and I would definitely use again

Loved this hotel

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Friendly, spacious, clean and everything worked including hot water. The maids worked around our routines.
Cons: We didn't want for anything else. I suppose the decore is a little drab but that didn't bother us.
Location: Plenty of public transport. Busses out front, trolly cars out back, taxis called by reception. Walking; ten mins from Beale & twenty from Sun studios
We have stayed in another Comfort Inn hotel this trip (New York) and this one (Memphis Downtown) was better. Memphis Downtown Comfort Inn was spacious, clean, tidy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely views of the Mississippi and Mud Island (only a name, not just mud). There was a sond which some might find annoying which was a train horn sounding about 2300ish and 0630ish, because you are in close proximity to a train line. You don't hear the train and because of the distance and the horn is not loud, just audible, but authentic US train sound. Good if your there to experience a bit of TV nostalgia. It did seam the most furthest away from the Beale st attractions than the other hotels, but on the hot sunny days and the warm evenings it was a nice stroll down main street passing the other hotels, trolly car stops (trolly cars were not running while we were there due to refurbishment), horse and carriage rides, some local shops and much less noisy restaurants. It took us probably about a ten minute stroll in total to get to Beale street (loved the food, music and the choice of bands as well). Sun Records is also in walking distance (if you are the sort that likes to walk and explore). The hotel also has secure parking (not used by us but plenty of other guests used it) and typical American breakfast facilities 6am - 9am weekdays & slightly later at weekends. There is a large visitors information centre just down by the riverside a three minute walk away.

Good location, Great Breakfast

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: the breakfast!
Location: near all downtown attractions
Of the six hotels we stayed in on our 3 week touring holiday this had the best free breakfast and a great location. The trolley route is nearby should you need it. It's within easy walking distance of all the downtown attractions. Rooms were comfortable.

Great location, easy access

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Big spacious, clean room, excellent continental breakfast buffet
Cons: Had to pay for parking which I thought would be complimentary and the parking garage was a little dumpy.
Location: Very close to the river and walking distance to Beale Street and other tourist attractions.
The room was great, very clean and comfortable. It was easy access off the major highways.

Great but noisy room

The staff were fantastic, the room was excellent but the air conditioning unit was really loud during the night - almost as loud as the trains right outside!

Good hotel for the money. Good location. Quite. It's cheaper when you compare with other hotels in downtown Memphis.
