Friendly staff. The Bell Boy staff were great at organising transport. Front desk staff were efficient and friendly.

Hotel Upkeep

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The staff was very friendly & remembered our names. The staff was very accommodating in moving us-as requested-to a room with to window to view firewor
Cons: Hotel common areas could use better maintenance.
Location: Very centrally located to all attractions.
The hotel upkeep was not what I have seen from other Doubletree hotels: the elevator glass window were filthy; the door frames into room showed rust at the bottom; the carpet base had dust accumulation on top edge; the flooring in elevators was peeling off; the trim inside elevator was rusted and discolored.

Nice hotel. Close to all the action.

Hotel and staff was nice. The room could use some updating. The bathroom was really small and dark. Not enough lighting. The room was also small.

Did not care for the Fridays restaurant and bar. Would have preferred a nice lounge.

Downtown Memphis

Posted Jun 22, 2015
The lobby was very nice. The rooms were clean but very outdated and old. They need to renovate the rooms, and add new refreshing carpet and blinds, which we could not open. My husband would not stay there. I was not happy with the TGIF restaurant. The plates were dirty and I don't like that they used magnalite pots that were placed on hot plates to keep the breakfast warm. The staff was very nice, courteous and their smile was genuine. As a Hilton Honors Member and vacation Club owner I really expected a more updated refreshing look and feel to my room. For the first time I was disappointed. It just really needs updating. I won't stay there again and I will not eat at TGIF. The convenience of being in the heart of downtown Memphis within walking distance of everything was a plus.

Good location - bad condition

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous.
Cons: The building
Location: In downtown Memphis - close to Beale St., restaurants, parks, etc.
We selected a room for handicapped people because it was the only no-smoking room available. It was supposed to have a queen size bed, but had only a double. It had NO closet. The hotel itself looked shabby. I heard that some rooms were in better condition, but I will not be staying there again.

Nice hotel close to downtown activities.

We wanted to be downtown so we could walk to Beale street, restaurants and the Civil Rights Museum. This hotel fit the bill and it was cheaper than other downtown hotels. Was it a great value? Nice enough but a little over priced . You also will pay $25.00 to park your car.

Sneaky smoker and noisy street!!

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: the ball park is right across the street, Beale is super close, and the valets are awesome.
Cons: a little more vigilance by the staff about the smoking patrons.
Location: Beale, ball park, shopping, eating.
Yes i know Memphis a bustling city but the room we had was on the 3rd floor on the busy street side, and it was bike night on Beale. So guess what we heard all night? Then the hotel was suppose to be smoke free which one of our neighbors did not take note of so we had to walk through a wall of cigarette smell, at one point we could smell it in our room. We did report it to front desk and they addressed the issue, next time a higher room on the less busy street will be had.
