Just OK

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: Location & staff
Cons: The rooms. They need to be renovated.
The hotel rooms are dated although the rest of the place is fine. You are paying a premium for the location for sure. Our room had water stains on the ceiling, cracked tile in the bathroom, and pretty ordinary furnishings for hotels at a comparable price. We booked a standard room but were put in a handicap room which had a pretty sub par bathroom/shower situation. I will say that the hotel staff are some of the friendliest I've experienced. I think every staff person said "hello" or "how are you today?". I don't know if I'd stay again given that for a few bucks more there are nicer options around town.

Wonderful hotel and location with nice rooms and friendly staff. Excellent fitness room and a very rare indoor pool big enough for laps.

Hotel should have been better for the money

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: The hotel location was good. Cookies on arrival.
Cons: Room cleanliness and repair. Lower rates (to compensate) for lower quality room.
Location: Graceland. Sun Studios. Beale Street. Museum of Rock & Soul. Civil Rights Museum.
The hotel was ok, but should have received more value for money. The room was in some disrepair (window blinds would not open/close; sink was slow to drain) and should have been cleaner. Also the lighting in the room was dim and dreary. The bathroom was cramped (when door was open it partially blocked the sink). The hotel location was good, but room quality was not worth the price charged. Meals were in an adjoining TGI Friday's. We had a free buffet breakfast there (due to disrepair of room), but I would not want to go back.

Room was not very clean. Blinds broken. Phone did not work. Locked out of our room twice. Bathroom dirty.

The hotel is at the heart of downtown.

There is only valet parking and this is unplanned additional cost to guest. No fridge in the room - maybe one should ask the front desk?

Excellent

Pros: It was a convenient location, easy to get to and the staff were great.
Cons: Carpet in the hallways looked a little worn, but not bad enough that it gave a bad impression. That's really the only thing I could even think of.
Location: Downtown Memphis close to eating establishments and Beale Street.
We only stayed one night while in Memphis for a Modeling event. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We are going back to Memphis for a Dance Competition and have booked this hotel.

Perfect location for a visit to Memphis

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: It was a great place from which to experience the city of Memphis.
Cons: Maybe some effort to reduce the noise levels. The noise is not the hotels fault, but they seem to do little to reduce it.
Location: A great city, lots to see; Stax Museum, Sun Studio, Beale St, Civil Rights Museum, The Mississippi, Graceland
With a location just a few minutes walk from Beale Street and the warm, friendly atmosphere so typical of the city, this was a key part to the great stay that we had in Memphis. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good facilities, great location.... all that you need. If I have one issue, it is that the streets outside were at times quite loud and noisy, maybe double glazed windows may help?
