A shooting took place at 5:30 am right outside or rooms window. This was the second during our 4 night stay. Elevators were out of service each day for hours & we had to haul our bags up & down to and from the fifth floor. The staff wasn’t concerned & told us it was the norm. Very unsafe in the area & told by police to be inside by dark. Won’t return,!!

On 15 February, 2024, I booked a reservation for my parents at the Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis-Beale Street for 22-24 March, 2024. The reservation was paid in full at the time of booking and was non-refundable, per condition of the hotel. My parents arrived at the property shortly before 7 PM on Friday, 22 March, to check in for their reservation. They were told by the person working the desk that the hotel had overbooked and could not provide their reserved room. They were told they would be sent to another property for their reservation. They were told the hotel randomly selects guest rooms to relocate guests to a different property when they are overbooked. This was entirely unacceptable and grossly unprofessional, especially because this is a Hilton/Hampton Inn property. I reserved at this property due to its close proximity to the Orpheum where they had tickets for a show the next day. This experience caused unnecessary stress for what should have been a routine process. The hotel never contacted me or my parents prior to indicate any issue with the reservation. The person at the front desk later found a room at their hotel after someone left unexpectedly. My parents were told they would have to pay an upgrade fee because the room was a King Bedroom Suite vs the King Bedroom that was reserved and paid for. Again, this was highly discourteous and grossly unprofessional. They were charged an exorbitant fee over an error the hotel made.

We got there 1 1/2 hours before check in, and typically a room is available. Apparently the "system crashed" and we were told to come back at 4 PM. We did only to find a line winding through the lobby. My young daughter needed to use the bathroom and we narrowly avoided an accident because the bathrooms were locked. The worst part was one of the elevators was broken - made for long wait times. The pool was dirty too, super cloudy. If we come back, we will probably stay somewhere else. No offense, just the price didn't match the quality & value. The staff were friendly but it wasn't earth-shattering service.

One Elevator was out of order making wait times long, and elevator crowded. Rude staff at desk No breakfast even though they said we would get, got downstairs pretty early and nothing left. No instructions on entering garage, watched numerous people struggle to enter. Only housekeeping every other day. The price did not equal the service. No military discount No fan bathroom or Microwave in room.

Being close to the FedEx forum really was the only reason for choosing this hotel one elevator was broken made for long waits our air conditioner never cooled the room off

This hotel was great except for a few minor issues. 1 elevator was broken (waiting on parts) which made getting to/from your room a lengthy wait. The room had a plug in air freshener and since I’m allergic to perfume, I got a headache, stuffy nose and sneezing. They should not allow those in hotels since many are allergic. The door to the hall stuck and was difficult to close. Finally the housekeeper walked into our room before we were checked out and while one of us was getting dressed. Otherwise great location, very safe, and very clean

Clean beds, clean showers, great location about a 3 minute walk to Beale St and Fed Ex Forum. No valet parking but they have a parking garage about $20 per night. We went for a Grizzlies game at Fed Ex Forum, so it was a tad more crowded but wasn’t really a problem unless trying to get on the elevators. They lock the property doors after 8 pm. We felt safe and had no problem with Loud music from outside but they do provide ear plugs just in case . Breakfast is kind of limited (waffle maker, breads, eggs, sausage, oatmeal). I was pleased with my stay.

It’s ridiculous that you have to go to the lobby to pick up your own towels if needed. Also, why can’t I just call and say to please clean the room everyday. Instead, I have to fill out paper just to get my room clean.

Great property and staff. Safe parking with clean elevators. The room was great. Plenty of room and outlets. The balcony would have been enjoyed more but the weather was not great. We will come back and enjoy it when the weather is better. Very short walk to Beale Street and the Fed Ex Forum.

Great location, just one block from Beale Street. Property was clean, but in below average condition (one of the two elevators was out of service). Getting in and out of the public parking garage was hit-or-miss. The free breakfast was pretty poor.

Very Large Balcony with chairs and a small table! It’s right around the corner from Beale street. It’s not far from the streetcar line. The hotel is right across the street from the E bike rentals. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The hotel provides earplugs for the beale street party noise. I didn’t need or use them. Of course, it was a slow week. you can easily walk to the street car. 1 negative - The bar on premises was never open when we wanted to have a drink.

Late night LIVE music downtown right next to the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, and go to bed early, stay elsewhere. The rooms do come with disposable ear plugs for sleeping. Otherwise, we loved the hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean.
