It used to be a Holiday Inn Express. The room was quite nice with all the right extra touches. Towels and tissues folded fancy and a cushioned lapboard for reading or writing in bed. Nice-looking fixtures, furniture and everything. A make-up mirror and big bathroom with lots of counter space and storage shelves. Housekeepers were friendly and remembered who I was by sight and what room I was staying in. Lots of cable channels. Breakfast was alright. Pastries, biscuits and gravy, a waffle-maker, cereal, etc. Mainly the place looked nice, inside and out, felt safe and was not too far from attractions in Memphis (even though it was just across the border into Mississippi. Less than a mile south was plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. The bed was very comfortable and the place was clean.

the howard johnsons in west mephis ar is the best for friendliness, access from the highway, location of restaurants. Having a refrigerator & microwave was especially helpful. The only recommendation I have is to extend the contiental breakfast 1 hour to 10am. When your on vacation sometimes sleeping in is a luxury.

Cheap hotel but suprisingly a good hotel. Close to the highway but there is construction on the the exit to the hotel so don't forget to take the one before it. From the outside it looks like a cheap hotel. Parking lot is well lit and area seems safe. Manager at the desk was nice and checked me in quickly without issues. Once I got into the room I was genuinely surprised. The room I was in was very large. You walked into a small section that had a couch and a small table. Next you had a large bed tv fridge and microwave. Than the bathroom. Water was hot. It has outdated furniture pillows were flat and the sheets were thin but clean. Also no coffee maker. Overall I would say this is a very good place considering I spent 50 with tax if you dont require extra amenities
