“Good hotel!”

This hotel is really good. Only the breakfast was disappointing, very simple. For every 'extra' there was a charge, they should upgrade the breakfast buffet. Other than that we had a really pleasant stay with super friendly staff!!!

“EXCELLENT hotel minus television availability”

This hotel is wonderful in every way. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that the channel selection on TV was incredibly limited. I was very disappointed as I love watching TV on vacation as I don't watch at home. Only news and sports. They said there additional shows were available for purchase on the TV - boo!

“This hotel knows how to treat guests”

This was hands down the best hotel experience I've had. Ever. Lovely decor, beyond friendly staff, and touches like turndown service and a complimentary continental breakfast that included beautiful fresh fruit served in the restaurant--it sounds so simple, but rarely do hotels actually hit all these notes. Also our room was unbelievably quiet. We felt like we were the only people on our floor and were treated like we the most important guests in the hotel.

“Staff was super!”

Our experience was great, we wanted a hotel near Beale street and the Madison Hotel was within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking it is only a block to the trolley stop with the trolley stopping at many downtown locations. Each and every one of the staff members were super! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We will always stay at the Madison when returning to the downtown Memphis area.

“Historic Hotel makes you feel like family.”

Hotel service couldn't have been more personal. We were greeted by everyone from the doorman to the bartender calling out to us as we walked to the elevator. Location was great, with main street trolley at our door. We upgraded to a room with an amazing view of Mississippi River. Full breakfast included was perfect. Great stay for two girlfriends having a Memphis get-away.

Area recommendations

National Civil Rights Museum was our big surprise. We were so moved and educated. The neighborhood has historic significance and great restaurants for a touring break.

Nightlife

Blues City Cafe for their ribs and Sunday night band with professional musicians jumping in to jam with them. Get a table early and stay all night.
