Close to trolley car service into cityPosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very reasonable accommodation for the price, but no coffee was left in our room one day and breakfast finished early another day so we missed it.

Clean and comfortable, but be in before dark!Posted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was clean. The beds were comfortable. There was no clock and the phone had no dial tone, but we didn't really need those items. Our room was non-smoking, but smelled heavily of smoke. We walked two blocks to get food from Arby's around 8:30pm. On our way back, we were verbally accosted numerous times by undesirables, and I actually had to step over some pitiful soul lying passed out in the gutter in front of the motel. I honestly thought that phrase was just a figure of speech! On a more positive note, the pool was fabulous--bigger than most.

Good stay in MemphisPosted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The rooms at this hotel are a little tired, but you really can't go wrong for the price and proximity to downtown. There is precious little within walking distance by way of food or amenities, so a car is definitely needed. B'fast is included and, while basic, was solid. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you're budget-conscious, save yourself 1/2 of what you'd pay for staying right downtown and be a ~5 minute drive there.

finally got a good night's sleep!Posted Aug 2, 2013
we had been on the road for a few days and staying in various motels along the way. our previous nights had been uncomfortable and the last place we stayed was pretty dirty. i don't know if it was because i hadn't been sleeping well but i slept through the night and actually awoke rested. overall the bed was very comfortable, especially with the light down-like comforter. we didn't check out the breakfast as we usually just get coffee...which was motel chain coffee, but that was to be expected. i recommend staying here when in memphis.

Awful. Not as advertised. Wifi doesn't work.Posted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: Bed was fine. Staff was friendly if not necessarily knowledgable.
Cons: Wifi should actually work if you advertise it. It's annoying enough for the signal to be weak in a guest room, but should at least work in the lobby.
Location: McDonalds down the street actually has functional wifi if you need it.
Let me preface by saying that my husband and I are extremely low-maintenance travelers. We frequently stay in low-budget motels and are fine with the limited amenities. We will happily forgo wifi or a pool to save $50. That being said, we researched hotels in Memphis and chose this one for an overnight stay on our way to Florida. Our requirements were fairly basic - we needed it to be pet friendly and have wifi. According to Expedia, the fee was $30 per room, 2 pets max. When we arrived, we were told that it was actually $30 per pet. So our two small dogs nearly doubled our fee. In that instance, I actually blame Expedia and not the hotel. Expedia should have been more clear about the pet fees and/or should provide the ability for a traveler to "declare" if they are bringing pets and how many. So we checked in, paid the crazy fee, and proceeded to our room. In a creepy outdoor hallway that had old mattresses propped up on the walls outside. Super weird for a hotel I'm paying way too much for per night. The room itself was fine. The bed was comfy. Our second huge requirement, besides being pet friendly, was access to wifi. We had an important business meeting we had to connect to that evening. The hotel advertised free wifi...except it didn't work. Not in the room, not in the hotel lobby, not even in the "business office." We actually had to drive down the road to the McDonalds to use their wifi in order to connect to our business meeting. 15 minutes late.

close to GracelandPosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
I THINK IF THE EXTERIOR WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPEALING IE: COLOR, LANDSCAPING, DRIVEWAY & SIDEWALKS ECT MORE TIDY, CLEAN AND IN GOOD REPAIR THE OVERALL IMPRESSION WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER. MY WIFE & I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THINGS WERE NOT WELL KEPT AND CLEAN, OUR PHONE DID NOT WORK AND THE BATH TOWELS WERE TOO SMALL & NO SHAMPOO. WILL NOT BE BACK UNLESS MUCH IMPROVED
