Check in nightmarePosted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location. Just steps from the FedEx Forum. Perfect of the NBA game. The location almost made up for the check in delay.
Cons: Uh...check-in! Also it was hard to regulate the air temp in the room. There was some confusion on paying for self parking in the garage.
Location: Next to Beale Street and FedEx Forum. Great location.
I had seen some negative reviews after I booked, but chose this hotel strictly for location (next to the FedEx Forum) and the reputation of the Westin name. I was totally unprepared for the disaster that awaited at check-in. We travelled to Memphis for the Grizzlies game on Saturday night. On the way in, we hit Graceland and Charlie Vergos Rendezvous for some barbecue. We had called about an early check-in, but were told that was not possible. We arrived around 4 (1 hour after the 3:00 check-in time). We were told our King room was not available and we were 13th in line for a room. As time passed the lobby became more and more full with people waiting to check in. Still not sure what caused the delay. There was a college basketball game early in the day followed by the NBA game that night. Not sure what (if anything) that had to do with it. We waited and waited and waited and waited with all the other 'guests'. We did not get in our room until after 6:00 - basically just enough time to change and go to the game. The front desk maintained their cool and remained pleasant through the ordeal. I know it was hard on them. They set up a buffet in the bar area for the people waiting which was a nice touch and we had a couple of free drinks as well. Then at check in we were offered free breakfast. So I do give them credit for trying.

Fantastic experience, best location on Beale!Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Location, Location, Location!!! Within steps of Beale Street and FedEx Forum. Unbelievably helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Location: If you are planning to hit Beale Street and see a Grizzlies game or concert in the FedEx Forum, there is no better location than this hotel!
From the Valet when we first drove up to Lorenzo the best bartender ever, who made us our Bloody Mary's before we left, this hotel may have the best staff I have ever experienced. They go out of their way to be friendly, accommodating and helpful and make sure your stay is one to remember. Our room was not ready at check-in, so without hesitation, we were upgraded to a King Executive Suite! The staff was awesome, the room was fantastic, the bed was plush and comfortable, and the location is unbeatable!! I will stay at this hotel EVERYTIME I go to Beale Street from now on. Thank all of you so much for a great and memorable stay!

Fantastic HotelPosted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Location, comfort, restaurant
Cons: Billing could make more sense
Location: Gracelands obviously is the big thing in Memphis. & Sun Studios was very interesting and entertaining.
Hotel was ideally placed for Beale Street, and the Gibson factory over the road. Staff were all very helpful and attentive. The restaurant in the hotel was brilliant, my wife & I ate in there both nights we stayed, we both said that it was THE best meal we had ever had on the first night, and when we ate there on the second night we were happily able to say it was very good, not the best meal ever (Only because that had been night one!)

Nice HotelPosted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: The hotel and the restaurant bleu are both very nice.
Location: Everything is so close. Can walk to any of the music venues and stores on beale street.
Right on top of beale street. We could see down on beale from our 6th floor room, into Silky O'Sullivans and on the street. We were able to walk to beale listen to music in Rum Boogies, watch the guitar drop and then walk back.

Walking distance hotel from memphis attractionsPosted Jan 1, 2015
This is a centrally located, modern and clean hotel one blick from Beale street and across Gibson guitar factory and Rock and Soul Museum. Staff is bery friendly. They seem to enjoy their work. Starbucks behind hotel offers the usual. Bleu restaurant is a good option as well. Room service menu is has a good range of options. Much less busy than the Peabory. Rooms are larger as well. Very quite hotel. We loved our stay.
