Superb Hotel and RestaurantPosted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: The restaurant and hotel service are outstanding
Location: Menagio is the perfect location for visiting Lake Como
Outstanding hotel for this location. Superb restaurant with authentic northern Italian food and attentive service. Room includes sumptuous breakfast. Excellent management and cordial staff. Worth a trip just to stay at this property. Location - Menagio is ideal for visit to Lake Como. A small but lively town, in the northern part of Lake Como, away from bustling and large city of Como. Menagio is also the center of cross-lake ferry services (passengers and cars) making it an ideal location to stay for visits to Belagio and Varenna, both interesting towns.

Nice little hotel. Very friendly service.Posted Sep 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This small family hotel is located on the hillside above Menaggio. We had the lovely, if somewhat pricey, Royal Suite. This room is very spacious and has a large private balcony with views of the lake and mountains. The only niggle is insufficient lighting for us to read with our ageing eyes unless we were seated right underneath a table lamp. A fridge would also have been useful. The staff in the restaurant were all very friendly with personal service, and the set menu so good and reasonably priced that we ended up eating there every night even though we were not booked in for half board.

Secluded hotel, be prepared to walk everywhere.Posted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Secluded position. Pool was great.
Cons: Staff could talk to you! Only the owner spoke to us the rest of the staff were a bit surly.
Location: It's a 15 minute walk into menaggio although coming back its much longer as its all uphill.
We stayed in the royal suite which was lovely. Wine in the restaurant was expensive but food was good. Think it's better for older people but it was relaxing and quiet.

Charming country retreatPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a small hotel in a residential neighborhood on a hillside with fantastic views of Lake Como. We stayed in the small annex across the street from main building and it was a small room with a door onto a patio with table and 2 chairs. No a/c, but with the cool evening breezes flowing thru the open windows none was needed. Clean and comfortable, but pillows were low and very firm. Main reason I chose to stay here was the reviews of Chef Mario's restaurant in the lower level of the main building. Mario greeted us in person and by name when we arrived for dinner and was very friendly and helpful in selecting a wine to accompany our dinner choices. The tomato salad tasted like it was fresh picked from the garden, the perch was light and flavorful, and the Crème Brule was to die for. The best I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a light continental in the European style with good coffee. Pool near the main building was available for a refreshing dip after a day of sightseeing in the hot Italian sun.

Great views from above townPosted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
15 - 20 mins walk back from Menaggio, 10 mins walk down, Swimming pool was lovely and view over the lake was great. Room was small but cool despite excessive heat and no air conditiong, Food in Restaurant was excellent and owner was great, waiter preferred to serve other tables and caused minor irritation but owner resolved. Building works just commenced next door and started at breakfast time so check if these are ongoing if you plan relaxing by the pool!

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The setting of the hotel is very picturesque. Very friendly.
Cons: Rooms quite small with no fridge, tea making facilities or air conditioning.
Location: Twenty minute uphill walk from the centre.
Very friendly hotel. Very well maintained. Room was rather small but the views from the balcony more than compensated. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
