Reasonably priced lodging for Mendocino Coast

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Location View Price
Cons: Heating controls Pool
My family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights in 4/2015. LOCATION: Northern edge of Ft Bragg and across from the Pudding Creek beach. The old log hauling railroad trellis is also across highway 1. Good views of beach and ocean. HOTEL ROOMS: We had a standard size 2 Queen BR. Room had been updated with a flat screen TV and updated shower fixture. Mini-fridge in the room. No AC but you generally don't need AC in Fort Bragg (screen windows). No room heating controls. BREAKFAST: morning BFast is basic but fine - cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, waffles, OJ, milk. WIFI: Wifi is free and speed was acceptable. POOL: Indoor pool is in the main office building. Pool is a bit dark (small windows) and cold. PRICE: Best Western is less expensive than most similar level motels in the area.

Nice hotel close to many attractions

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Nice heated pool and free breakfast
Cons: Our room smelled musty and old. There was an infestation of spiders in one of the lamps that we had to eliminate before going to sleep.
Location: Ricochet Ridge Ranch was great for horseback riding and Glass Beach is an unique experience with great views of the ocean.
We came to Fort Bragg to experience Glass Beach and go horseback riding. This hotel was an ok experience. There is a very nice heated pool and a free breakfast, both made this hotel worth the money. The ocean view that is advertised is obstructed by a large bridge and even then there are no balcony's or patios to enjoy what view there is. Our room smelled old and there was a large family of spiders living in our lamp shade that need to be removed before we could go to sleep. Also we were only provided with 2 bath towels for 2 people. Overall I would say that for the money there might have been a better option nearby but this was not a horrible experience and if you just need a place to sleep this hotel is just fine.

for a last minute trip this hotel was perfect!

Posted Apr 7, 2015
I wanted to plan a surprise trip, and knew being last minute I would not find anything that had an ocean view without breaking the bank. I was wrong! This hotel is right across from the beach. We were lucky enough to get a ocean view room for under $140 for one night. The staff were very nice! And the rooms were clean and comfortable. The heater was the only thing that was a little confusing. Once you turn it on it just takes a little bit to warm up.

Fort Bragg Ice Bowl

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: The bed was soft.
Cons: We had a problem with the tub the first night. We mentioned it to the host and it was fixed before we got beck to your room.
Location: Glass beach is a must, disc golf at the college is fun (despite the wind), walking through all the shops, eating all the great food, relax
We had a decent couple nights stay in one of the ocean view king rooms. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and the room was comfy.

Nice hotel with a great view of the Pacific ocean.

Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: More of an upgraded breakfast.
Location: We recommend Anchor Charters at Noyo Harbor for Whale watching ($35 per person) or fishing while you are in town. Echo is a great deckhand. Whales
Nice hotel with a great view of the Pacific ocean. Nothing fancy, but no fancy price tag either. Hotel is on a hillside overlooking the Pacific. Staff is polite and friendly. Free breakfast is basic, and mostly pastries, bagels, and such. Fort Bragg is a beautiful town, with great people, and lots to see and do. We also recommend Anchor Charters at Noyo Harbor for Whale watching ($35 per person) or fishing while you are in town.

Was traveling for over a week for my move and found this gem. Right off the interstate, super comfortable, cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Highly recommended.

Pros: View and breakfast.
Location: Located on the north end of Fort Bragg. You can walk to the beach.
The rooms are spacious and updated with a nice view of the ocean across the highway and Pudding Creek. The room was quiet. The breakfast room in the lobby is quite nice with many options for the included breakfast.
