It is a beautiful property that exudes warmth. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Inn is smaller in size which adds to it’s uniqueness and sense of Intimacy. The breakfasts and wine hour meals were excellent.

Such lovely people run this property and the location is ideal with a beautiful view of the cove from the dining area and our room. Loved the breakfasts and the appetizers/dinner which was included in the price. Very reasonably priced too.

Serene, homey and beautiful
We had a lovely three night stay at Brewery Gulch. Our room had a bit of noise from the highway at times and the wooden blinds don't make the room as dark as we would like but overall it was very comfortable. The Inn has a perfect rustic elegance and it's wonderful to sit on the porch and watch the wonderful array of birds eating and drinking nearby. Breakfasts were delicious and tea, coffee drinks and cake are always available. We were in town for a wedding so we didn't take any of the walks but I would certainly return ( with eye covers). We understood from our server that a lot of people are regulars! We recommend the Inn, and the massage service of Leanne!

Amazing hotel
It is the best hotel we have ever stayed. The backyard sitting area with ocean view is stunning. I can just spend the entire day in the backyard. Staff were friendly and always trying to find ways to make our stay comfortable and special. Absolutely a fantastic hotel, not to mention the wine tasting and dinner. We will be back for sure.

Service was excellent. We had rooms facing the ocean, albeit in the distance. If you stay here : beeakfast and supper / light dinner are conplementary, and its splendid food , served in a very tasteful manner. We loved this place for a weekend couples getaway.

Lovely weekend getaway at the Brewery Gulch Inn. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a bit pricier than others in the area but when you factor in the breakfast and wine hour, it’s actually a good value. Perfect location with easy access to wine tasting, state parks and the beach. We’ll be back!

Tasteful (mostly).
The architecture, setting, and gardens are beautiful, truly tasteful. The decorating could use a facelift and the main building has some funny elements - a hokey gift shop right when you walk in the door - that remind you that you’re in the land of B&Bs. (You can tell that whomever built Brewery Gulch originally is different than the team that runs it now.) We liked the all-inclusive aspect (breakfast and dinner included) as it made for a truly relaxing trip. And the rooms have wonderful features like comfy, overstuffed chairs and fireplaces.

Absolutely delightful
We really loved it here. Everything about the place oozes charm and care and there’s such careful attention to the details. The wine hour was a particularly special touch. The setting is also stunning. It’s a short drive to the pretty town of Mendocino. Can’t wait to go back!

It always feels like coming home! Everything is well appointed yet comfortable. The breakfast and dinner are delicious and the staff are very friendly. My one thought for improvement would be to not reserve the prime window tables at breakfast for outside guests; I think those should go to people staying at the inn.

This place is one of the finest B&B's I have ever stayed in (including Europe & Ireland) Every (and I mean every) detail has been thoughtfully reviewed and is top of the line. Brekfast was incredible. The "light" dinner was substantial.

A pleasant place. Location is good -- about 1/2 mile from town of mendocino and the big river beach, both of which are uniquely beautiful. The garden and building are pretty, and our room was small but comfortable. The inn is on the far side of route 1 from the ocean, so leaving a window open for ocean sounds also results in the sound of the occasional motorcycle growling past. We had partial views of the ocean from the windows, but the feel is more lodge-ish than seaside. The grounds look to be beautiful -- we did not have time to take any of the suggested walks. The building seems new or renovated; the structure is an open floor plan with rooms upstairs around a central atrium common area where food is served. There were lingering food smells in the hallways at night that weren't entirely welcome, particular with brussels sprouts on the menu. (The room smelled fine though.) Food was good, generally a bit rich, and vegetarian options were somewhat limited. The common area is very nice -- big board game tables, chairs, plenty of tea/coffee/dessert available to help yourself til late. There was a nice sunny garden to sit in. Good internet service. Lots of DVDs to choose from and a player in the room, but the TV was small. Walls were thin -- we heard our neighbor coughing through the night. On the whole, some things felt first class, some things a shade less, so the price felt a bit high in retrospect.

Quiet Inn with a beautiful view
Large shingled Inn on a hill with beautiful view of a cove. Inside modern and clean lines. Very nice attention to details - bag of caramels on the bed, nice towels, candles in the room, USB chargers, They offered a wine hour and a very light supper in lounge/dining room. Perfect for a nice, low-key evening. Very welcoming staff. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Beautiful grounds and easy parking.

Scenic seclusion
Stayed in the Smuggler's Cove room which had beautiful view of Ca. coast. Nightly wine tasting was excellent oppty to interact with other guests, breakfast a gourmet's delight. A bit south of village of Mendocino, but close enough to fully enjoy all it had to offer.

Absolutely worth it
The place is amazing. Great serenity, overlooking Smuggler's Cove (view of a small ocean cove). The staff was exceptionally gracious and helpful. From the excellent pre-arrival information via email, to the welcome to helping me with a birthday surprise for my wife; it was a fantastic romantic getaway. The room was comfortable and the amenities were excellent (soaps, lotions, bath salts, robes...) This is the best way to explore Mendocino, with the Brewery Gulch Inn as your base. Breakfast and dinner are prepared at the Inn and included in the room rate. Both were delicious and recommended, but there are equally interesting restaurants in the area (that would give you more options with dinner).
