Ran out of wáter for 9 hours!Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Nice location. Very quiet.
Cons: Place was built in1881. Needs a lot of improvements. Price was not cheap!
Location: Great location to tour Mendocino.
Overall condition is run down. After the first day they did not do the room, changed towls, made beds, etc... Bed was comfortable. Staff is friendly and attentive. They did do OK for breafast. Lost part of the morning waiting for wáter to arrive. Should had offered some kind of refund, as this was fully preventable.

disappointed in cleanlinessPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: great location for our needs
Cons: Keep it clean
disappointed in cleanliness and overall appearance. Clean the carpet and keep the paint scrubbed down where hands touch.

Room for ImprovementPosted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Good supply of wood for the very necessary fire in the evening
Cons: General shabbiness and a non cooked option at breakfast would help.
Location: Not impressed by restaurants we tried. May have been unlucky
Two nights stay in August in Mendocino at the Didgeridoo Guest House were a little disappointing. The cold misty weather did not help. The room could have been cleaner, there was a musty smell, the carpet was stained, the fire grate had not been cleaned after last guest and was not cleaned out after our first night either, the wash basin was cracked and the shower was poor. Breakfast was a cooked one, with which we thought the cook had been trying too hard to be different, Something as simple as cereal eg granola was not a option To be fair other guests seemed to approve perhaps their palates were more sophistocated than ours.

Mendocino Bed and BreakfastPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: The breakfasts were delicious.
Cons: The hotel needs outside lighting. We arrived after dark (but before 10:00 pm) and our key was taped to the front door. There was no close parking.
Location: Coastal views beautiful. Winery tours and tastings.
The Hotel does not have the sparkle that the Expedia pictures portray. The exterior and grounds are in need of repairs.

Very disappointingPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: the location to downtown is probably the only positive thing going for it
Cons: It is an old 1880's house made into a hotel, there is lots to improve but I guess the biggest thing would be for them to be honest on what to expect.
Location: downtown Mendocino is small and quaint. beautiful area!
Looking at this online before booking it, it appeared to be a nice place with character but when we got there the room was extremely small, no elevator (have to drag your bags up several flights of stairs), loud (can hear everyone through the walls), and a family with a crying baby that lives with their family directly behind the hotel. The crying kid kept us up and woke us up early in the morning.

Adventure. Place needs a major refit. Gardens a shambles and place run down. Saving grace. Breakfast. Fantastic and worth the wait.

DidjeriDON'T Nightmare InnPosted Jul 25, 2014
From the photos we saw on the site we expected a nice room. Our carpet was filthy and stained. I wore sandals so as not to walk on it. There were layers and layers of cobwebs between the curtains and ceiling. The window frame had enormous spider webs with a large variety of dead bugs caught in them (SEE PICS).There was a lot of mold on the bathroom ceiling. The sheets were brown and questionable. The bathroom door was dirty and paint was peeled off. We wanted to tell an employee but no one was around. The next morning I asked a guest about her room and she said it was dirty so she cleaned it herself yet 2 other couples said their rooms were great. There seems to be a HUGE discrepancy in the quality of the rooms. We were in #67. I phoned Charles figuring he was unaware of the filth of the room. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt but he said " I don't want to talk about this." and hung up on me. We paid this man to sleep in squalor. You can't see the sea from the house and he claims you can whale watch from the porch. Unless whales fly in Mendocino, there's no way with a church in front. I can't comment on the famous breakfast. I was too upset to eat and questioned the cleanliness of the kitchen judging by our room. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Wedding on the BluffPosted Jul 21, 2014
We stayed 2 nights in Mendocino to attend a wedding nearby. The town & environs are delightful for walking, shopping & enjoying the ocean views. This bed & breakfast is in an old Victorian house. The room with shower was quite small & without shampoo amenities, but it was sufficient for us, & both breakfasts were excellent!

Great location in Mendocino villagePosted Jul 19, 2014
Cons: Could use a little maintenance, but hey, it's a historic building in a moist environment.
Nice old (late 1800's) Bed and breakfast close to the beach and village. I feel comfortable here, not like I have to dress up. Very relaxed place. I don't think I have had a better breakfast at any other B and B. Nice staff, comfy beds. Well be back...
